audiio shop in bay area
you dont "need" one, but i hear that amp can be unreliable in detecting it with the auto sensing...you might as well use a remote turn on, its easy to install. are you going to be installing by yourself?? i really recommend you at least have someone a little familiar with installing car audio stuff around to help you.

i put everything together but the speaker is not turning on so is the amp. i followed the DIY and make sure all the connections are secure but still nothing. anyone in the bay area can come help me install it? im in san francisco
I might have some time in the afternoon on monday. do you have a multimeter? check to make sure you are actually getting power. just touch the mm to the terminals on the amp, check the main power and the 12v remote. if you arent getting power, make sure you have your fuse properly installed and you have a good grounding point that is sanded down.
if the wires are supplying power to your amp but its just not turning on, double check the fuses on the amp to make sure they arent blown. if you come out to the east bay i might be able to lend you a hand sooner, but ill have some stuff i need to take care of.

np dude. hey you did it all yourself even though it consumed a lot of your time but you learned something now didnt you? you saved a little bit of money but learned a lot. =] glad that i could help.
if you want....I can do it!! all you have to do is by the parts or if you need me to get it for you I can do it too... i was in the business for 5 years and still do it on the side!! PM me if you need me to hook you up!
I was talking to someone about mounting the amp and he was saying the backs of our seats dont provide much support and his amps actually fell, since there is only a thin piece of peg board like material that you are screwing in to. It is really thin, I checked it the other day. He suggested cutting small pieces of MDF and put it behind to provide a little extra support. The only problem is, I couldn't figure out how to take the seat backing off to do this. Anyone know how to do this? I've read other people on this for try to aim to his the metal bars, but that seems pretty hard and you wouldn't be able to hit a metal bar with all 4 mounting points.
