What do YOU want in a car show?

I'd like everyone to chime in with your opinions. My team is planning to throw a car show for the local Texas community sometime next year, and we'd like to have some input on what you'd like to see and what you wouldn't like to see as spectators. I know this is NorCal section, but Grace said you guys could offer good feedback. Please don't be afraid to voice your opinion. I'd specifically like the younger crowd to chime in (under 21) with your thoughts, so I can make this the best local car show possible.

Also what would participants in a car show like that isn't currently available?

Big name shows are all going down the drain...HIN, DUB, and NOPI just to name a few. We're losing sight of what really made these shows a success back when I first started showing back in 1997-1998. I'd like some feedback on what people WANT from a show. So it can be tailored to be a show for the people, by the people and not some corporate mega-giant out there to make money from everyone.

Having cars is a given since its a CAR show. Having alot of models is always a good thing. Unfortunately, only so cal has the HOT models.

thats cause it cost alot of money to hire the good ones. and there are so many "talent agency" wanting to throw thier models out there for free most coordinators dont turn them down.

this year i am voicing we screen models for j's gathering.

if its a local community show. there should be no trophys, awards always equal drama.

if you are going to give awards do not let "the people" decide or it turns into a popularity contest.

get couple people have them judge, but make sure they know the cars! we made a mistake of sending honda guys to judge infinitis lol not good. infinti's are like vip style more show than go, hondas are bout keeping it jdm oem looking and all performance, so the honda guys will think all the cars are rice.

do the score cards like

exterior 1-10
interior 1-10
suspension 1-10
engine 1-10
overall 1-10

then have 1 person that really knows cars over see the score cards and do a quick walk through.

Like the Reno girls? Jesse and I are still smelling something "fishy" about that group...

I vote to screen models too but who would be the one to give the thumbs up. Each person has different likes and dislikes. If there is no muffin top then thumbs up.. If the grill is busted, they MUST wear a bag.

I'm well versed in how to run a show and judge. Our team has combined experience of lots of events from judging shows, to car washes, to large meets, and even a concert along with help in creation of NCCA rules a few years back. My main concern was making something successful which would be talked about for years to come. It's not going to be something as large or epic as a NOPI supershow, but a good size for the area.

What do the 15-21 year olds entering the scene want? and what will they enjoy? girls/cars are a given...
