Best places to eat: NORCAL EDITION

Saw a thread like this sticky'd on the socal section. I know we got some pretty bomb places up in norcal too, so why don't we have our own list????!?

I'm always down to find good food, so let us know where you go to when you get the munchies.

Tell us any places you like to eat at, and if possible. Give us a Yelp.com link. Most likely any place that is more than decent has a bunch of reviews on Yelp.

Here's one of my favs.

Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch

Nini's Coffee Shop in San Mateo. I usually go here around 10AM for brunch. They have awesome food in large portions. Living in the Peninsula (Daly City) sucks since in the wee hours its usually foggy. Nini's happens to be located in San Mateo where it's usually hotter and not foggy. Makes for a bunch better grub spot imo.

Yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/ninis-coffee-shop-san-mateo

If there's already a thread about this, whoops. Delete this then, but sticky the original!

i am absolutely obsessed with this place called "freshly baked" in downtown sj. they have the BEST sandwiches! theyr very basic, not even fancy, but just like their name would suggest they bake bread fresh daily and its SO GOOD!! this place is only open monday-friday from like 11 am - 230 pm. its mostly for local businesses, and i must say its doing damn good for itself. it may not be open long, but its always PACKED during its business hours.

OH and for pho, ive come to love LEE NOODLE HOUSE on king rd. it has this like... teriyaki chili sauce or something that ive never seen at any other pho place. They all have the standard "rooster sauce" and the brown stuff, as well as the regular chile sauce, but this teriyaka one adds amazing flavor! there are other pho places a heck of alot closer, but i still go to this one..

Freshly Baked is amazing. A co-worker of mine brings sandwiches from there when she has to run an errand in that area..

I'll recommend Muracci's 2 in Los Altos. Amazing Japanese curry, very sizable portions for the price, and some of the waitresses are quite cute.

^ Pics of said waitresses.

One of my favorite sandwich places aside from Little Lucca in SSF is Colombo's in Pacifica.

Go there and try out their Clubhouse Sandwich on Dutch Crunch.

**Unluss I left the address as a whole, all my links in this thread are to Yelp**

Pho - Pho Y #1 On Capitol the best pho in the SF Bay Area...

KBBQ - Tobang in Santa Clara

Thai - Shana Thai Restaurant in Mountain View of all the Thai places I've been to, the food here has been the best

Breakfast - of the many great breakfast spots, I'll recommend The Pork Store Cafe on Haight in SF

Steak - House of Prime Rib, SF
or Alexander's Steakhouse in San Jose

Chinese Bakery - Golden Gate Bakery, SF Chinatown. They have the best egg tarts/dan ta in CA EDIT: their egg tarts aren't as good as I remember them being, but their Moon Cakes are bomb! But be warned, those things are pricey: 1 Lotus Moon Cake with 2 egg yolks = $7.50

Dim Sum in San Jose - Hong Kong Saigon. Awesome seafood, one of the few places here that use duck egg for their crab, but their dim sum is off the hook! EDIT: Their Dim Sum took a dive recently too... they still have several items that extraordinarily good, but their Hai Gao, my favorite dim sum dish, is horribly made now.

Crepes - Crepes A Go Go in SF I'm not sure if this place is open in the daytime or not, but it's the spot to go after a night of clubbing!

Sushi - Tani's Kitchen in Daly City
TGI's Sushi in Campbell
Satomi Sushi in Fremont
Ray's Sushi in Hayward
Sushi Zone in SF (I've never been to Kiss Sushi yet)

There's a few more I can't remember right now...

Burgers - Sliders in San Jose

It's funny how I can't remember all the good eats, but I can definitely tell you where not to go!

Anybody else into all sorts of ethnic foods?

Zeni Ethiopian Restaurant

Like the Shana Thai and Tani's Kitchen recs.. but I go to Tani's for the homestyle Japanese food. Their sushi never impressed me.

I also like Crepe Temptation over Crepes A Go Go, though they close at midnight. They're kimchi steak crepe is amazing. http://www.yelp.com/biz/crepe-tempta...an-francisco-2
