06 Headlight conversion

Hey everyone so its that time of year and my gift to myself is a set of projector headlights. This has been on my to do list for a long time and I'm ready to get it done. Iv'e read multiple DIYS and plan on doing it myself. Now I'm the first to admit... my skills with cars is rather.... limited.... (took my dad and I 7 hours to change a bulb haha)

I know alot of you have done it and it looks great. I have some questions though. I am asking in this area cause I know you guys will be helpful. The bulbs that come with the 06 projectors are they nice? or should I replace right off the start? I wanted to black em out but honestly baking them in a oven after dropping 500 on em seems like a bad idea...

If anyone's free and knows what the hell there doing and wants to lend a hand I won't turn it down either. This will get done one way or another. Any advice is greatly appreciated...

Up grading to the '06+ projector headlights is one of the best mods you can make to a first gen G35, you're gonna love em! The OE bulbs will work great, that's all you need! There's a bunch of members in NorCal that should be willing to help you with the install. Good Luck!

The OEM bulbs are ok but you would be better off getting some 6000k bulbs which are more of a pure white with a slight blue tint to them. The best ones to get are Phillips ultinons. They will run about $200 a pair but look great. If you do open them up, I suggest replacing the crap lenses with some clearer ones like TSX lenses. Those are about $30 a set. You will see a world of difference with the 06 lights. I will be getting a new set myself with many new light mods. Enjoy.

find a good DIY, read it 5 times and follow it.

Baking them is not a bad Idea at all. do it for 7 minutes at 200 F to open and 5 minutes to seal them back up.

Have some patience and do it right.

Shoot a PM to G35papa. He's an excellent local DIY'er. He will either point you to a DIY thread he more than likely created, or perhaps, even offer you a price to do the conversion for you.

Thanks for the recomendation guys but I'm on retired status these days

Got your PM Norcal

Take a look at this thread
https://g35driver.com/forums/lightin...eadlights.html

If you still don't feel confident, hit up Deftronix (he showed me everything I know...he is my masta ) I think he is still doing painted headlights.

Good luck
