Attention GoldenGate members, did you dyno at Modacar this last summer?

None of the dyno's show up when the original thead got moved to the new site here. And the resluts are no longer on the GoldenGate Yahoo site. Could some of you please post your dyno plots so we can see them?

I do have one question. For 6mt guys, did they let you dyno in 5th or did they require you to run in 4th? I called them and they insisted on doing the car in 4th, saying they could get better results even when I told him 5th is 1 to 1. Worries me that they might not have the most highly trained tech running the dyno, I dunno.

Email me at skeletoncru@sbcglobal.net and I will send you the Excel Spreadsheet of the results.

Yes, they made all 6MT's Dyno in 4th, but they were ALL VERY professional there and all very well trained. Modacar is highly recommended if you want to dyno your G.

Vihn and I also have the .drf (dyno run files) from all runs at the dyno day. The free demo software from the DynoJet website lets you view them. It's pretty interesting seeing two people's dyno runs on top of each others for comparison. You want me to send a copy to you too, Eloy?

yes, ModaCar is very professional.

they just had a hard time extracting our runs on to a floppy disk

By the time we got them, we were missing the A/F plots. you really can't complain for $30. everyone else in SoCal or NorCal is paying anywhere from $50-$60 for 3 runs w/ A/F readings. At first I thought it was shady because of the low price, but everything turned out great. they even provided free food.

i understand 5th gear for 6MTs is a 1-1 ratio, but every dyno day you see put together so far, people have dynoed their car in 4th. For 5AT, they dyno in 3rd.

If you want to dyno in 5th, just insist and I'm sure they'll accomodate you.

I have to put in another good word for Modacar. I was having detonation issues and Casey took some time out of his day the following week to hook up the chassis ear and take a ride with me to see if it was detonating on the road after I switched to 76 gasoline. It's a great shop over there, and if we do another dyno day we should hold it there since that's where we have our previous dyno figures.

skeleton_cru thank's for emailing me the printout. I'd like to dyno to see where I'm at power wise and to see the air/fuel ratio and Modacar was a logical choice since the place in Fresno want's $120 to dyno with air/fuel ratio's.

Let us know when you plan to go. Maybe we can get a few more members to go as well.

The A/F plot are there, you just have to click on some places where they don't look like they have drop-down menus. To compare all parameters (hp, tq, a/f) with some one else, switch to 2 graph mode. Open the first dyno run. Open the second dyno run, if you want to compare to someone else. On the bottom, click on "Speed (mph)" (doesn't look like a button, but it is) and change it to "Engine Speed". Next, on the right-hand side of the upper graph, change the "None" to "Torque" ("Power (hp)" should be on the left-hand side by default). And finally, change the "None" on the lower graph, right-hand side "Air/Fuel". Now you have all three figures most people are looking for, and what standard printouts will show.

If we're wanting another dyno day at some point, I'm sure John and crew would be up for it. Just remember, 10 cars confirmed minimum. I think they might be raising their prices to $35 per car on dyno days and $40 for one-offs, but that's still a bargain.

If anyone stops by Modacar, be sure to check out their Mitsubishi Evolution MR. It's fully track prepared and 410+whp of AWD power!

I am definitely going to baseline my new G before any mods. So count me in for a dyno run.

oh...if anyone wants the files we got from ModaCar, pm me or Kurtis.

now that he showed me how to get the A/F and other readings, it's pretty awesome to read and compare each other's runs.
