Just got back from Skyline Blvd
Nothing better than being on a Skyline on Skyline Blvd(Saratoga - Highway 9.. I think)
Just got back at 2:40am and it was hella foggy, I could see less than 2m ahead of me. All I can say is, for those of you new stickshifters who wanna practice heel- toe and rev-matching, this is the place for you. Just watch the deers
I was driving at the speed limit sometimes less to be safe cause I had a friend in the car. Got passed by an S2k, WRX and another G. Is the G driver on the board?

I still have some questions about heel toeing actually too.
Habitually, I tend to keep my heel pivoted between the gas & brake pedal. I brake with 3/4~1/2 of my foot and blip the throttle with the other 1/4~1/2 so I don't really angle my foot to blip the throttle like in the drift bible / best motoring videos. However, I noticed a problem which is, a couple of times I had to brake hard(light turning red or something) and when braking hard the 1/4 ~ 1/2 of my right foot hits the gas pedal aswell.
So, I think my method is only adequate for city driving/ light braking conditions.
I need advice on how to properly position my foot to do a heel and toe.

Heel Toe shifting is a matter of comfort and SAFETY. Aside from the clutch pedal and shifter actions . . . I brake with the ball of my right foot and pivot the outside of the right heel to blip the gas pedal. Using the complete ball of my right foot prevents my foot from slipping off of the brake pedal. From there it's pivot off of my heel back onto the gas pedal for full throttle.

I wasn't up there then, but if you see a '03.5 6MT brilliant silver sedan up there that's mine. I have family that lives near the intersection of Skyline and Page Mill Road - about 20 minutes north of Saratoga.
Heel toe... I do it the "standard" way. (Don't mind the periods; it won't let me open a line with a space)

Some people are able to leave the foot remaining vertical and just tilt the foot to the right and blip the gas though. Whatever works for you, go for it!

Isn't it hard to control the pressure on the brake when you place your entire ball of the foot on the brake pedal? I find it difficult unless I'm braking hard.
With the ball of the foot on the brake and the heel on the pedal, the weight of your foot/leg are on the pedals. Are you guys able to control the braking easily that way? I find it difficult because if I want to brake lightly, I can't just dump the weight of my foot on the brake(It'll brake too hard).
I do it by pivoting my foot on the floormat and keeping 3/4 foot on the brake pedal and 1/4 foot on the gas which makes it much more easier to modulate the gas/brake pedal because I don't have to bear the weight of my err leg but from all the heel toeing vids I've seen, I believe I'm wrong.

Thank you, Shane. That is a really good demo of how it is done. Once again, comfort is important, as well. Practice to find what works for you.
Edited: The demo that Shane posted does one thing different than I do. As I release the clutch pedal, I am also pivoting my right foot over to the gas pedal. Perhaps, that was what the demo had intended, but could not reproduce. At least, that's what I do.
LOL . . . Had to run out to the garage and do a couple of shifts in the car.
