was wondering about the warranties offered by the shops and the tint mfg, the llumar site says "no color change warranty".....what constitutes in a change of color? what might seem to be faded to one might not be faded for another. I wanted to go w/ the ceramic tints like huper from automall but they are so expensive. I would go w/ the 100% metallic tint but they might interfere w/ my navi. The last option would be the dyed tints and my biggest fear is seeing my tint look purple-ish or even any shade of purple. Does anyone know what would qualify as a color change on the tint? and/or how it is measured so the mfg wont say "no thats not really a color cahnge and is not fading, therefore the warranty is not in effect"....

What constitutes as fading or color change would be up to the company who did the installation. If he / she believes it is a valid claim, then they would replace it and file a claim with the film manufacturer. Essentially, color chg in general is about the film turning a different color (to purple for example) due to adhesive failure from the sun's UVs. The rays would break down the low-grade red dye, and generally turns it to purple. This would happen with the low-grade tint......the stuff you could buy from Kragens, Target, etc.
