Speeding tickets?
I got a speeding ticket in Pierce county while driving to Tacoma airport on Sunday morning. :-( Apparently the cops were out everywhere and I got caught in one of my "cruising and not paying attention to my speed" moments. I just moved up here from CA and am curious what WA laws are like with respect to points on license, etc.? CA has a six point system with various tickets having various "weights" of points added. After six, the license is suspended. Does WA have a similar point system? Can I take traffic school online or anything to not get points? Does it affect insurance badly? (I have one other speeding ticket in CA from 3 years ago.) Anyway, anyone with any experience please let me know. Thanks y'all!

I know this from expirence. So pay your tickets

Yeah, I came from california as well. There is no point system in Oregon or Washington. I was never offered traffic school or anything either. (At least not like in california). My wife just got a ticket, and was offered traffic school to reduce the fine, but was told it would still go on her driving record. But that was in Oregon.
Depnds on your driving record I guess. I got a speeding ticket, but didnt have anything else on my record. So they let me do a online class and have a year probation. Passed the class, didnt get a ticket for a year and it was dropped.

I just did that last year, and didn't have to take any classes, and I already had a ticket on my record. My wife did this as well with her last ticket, and she had 2 on her record at the time.

I had no tickets and still had to take the class, either way, it;s not on my record and that's all I was worried about.

I figure I'll just pay it and be extra cautious (even tho I am as it is. . .). Most airlines don't like hiring pilots with loads of tickets. It makes them think that the pilots are careless and unsafe.
So as long as I don't get a ticket for a year, this won't go on my record? Did I understand this correctly? Thanks for all the info so far. . .
