Re: Tint in Portland
I had mine done at Automotive outfitters near se82nd and Foster (they are closer to 87th I believe). I had 35% done all around on my Altima, and have been hapy with the work. I did have a few dirt bubbles on one window but they took care of it w/o hassle. I believe the cost was $225.

Re: Tint in Portland
I've been talking to the rep at HuperOptik and he is supposed to be sending me some samples of his film. They don't have a dealer in Portland but have a couple candidates who are interested.
HuperOptik is supposedly "the" premium film for tint. It is ceramic based so won't interfere with radio signal from window antenna. Optics are also supposed to be superior.
I just got off the phone and am awaiting samples. I have no idea what charge will be right now. Regular tinting goes from $100-$250 I think. If this is "premium" it might be a tad more expensive. Perhaps if a few local G owners banded together we could all benefit from reduced costs? I know my G's worth it.
PM me if you're interested or respond here. I'll keep you updated.

Re: Tint in Portland
Info I received in an e-mail from Huper Optik. Geeman49, I suspect this is the guy you've been chatting with ?? I think between the two of us, we can obtain a competitive price for a group of us. I like the fact that this product causes no radio interference.

Re: Tint in Portland
Hey guys, so do you think it is Gary who would come out and do the install? Or would we just purchase the film and have someone else install it?
I am all for the ceramic...as long as it doesn't bubble or turn blue, and with no interference, you can't beat that! I really would like to install the satelitte antenna on the rear deck.

Re: Tint in Portland
Yes it is Gary Clark. From our conversation it sounds to me as if he is deciding who to designate as HuperOptik dealer in PDX and has a couple in mind. I doubt he would be the one doing the install. As one of the first customers in the area I'm hoping he will take very good care of me. Who wouldn't want a nice tinted black G in their press photos?

Re: Tint in Portland
I called Beaverton Infiniti's Service Dept and they recommended some place (the name escapes me now, but if you call, they'll recommend the same guy I'm sure) that does all the tinting for the dealership. I then called this guy (apologies again for not knowing the name of the business) and inquired about tinting. He said I could tint my car for $225 and he would do a "factory style" tinting job. By factory style, he said that the tint would go "all the way to the edges of the side windows and the back window would be done in 1 single piece." This guy talked a good game and I think I'll go with him. He uses SunGuard tint and I liked the way he described the process. Plus, he's recommended by the dealer and the price was competitive, though a little higher than others I've called.
