Miata Autocross

Had a chance to do some autocrossing with the G coupe up in Everett with the Miata Autocross club. The club have this practice meet every two weeks. I was curious to test the limits of the G without having to worry about cops so I tried it. I was very impressed at the results. The G is a very capable car. It can take corners really well and slaloms so easily too. I know I'm no professional race car driver but the G made autocrossing so much easier. It gives the driver a good feedback from the road too. There was a 350Z at the meet with 6sp manual. Both cars are pretty much stock with stock tires. I was surprise to get better times on my runs. I was using him for comparison to see how well I'm doing since I'm a rookie. Even with the VDC off the car still handled well.

Not sure if I'll do it again since it's really hard on the suspension and tires, not too mention the transmission. At least I know how much the car can take in case I'm in a real hurry in the future. ;p If any of you want to try it, let me know so I can forward the meet info to you when notice comes out.

yeah, just let me know how much it costs, I'd like to push my car just once at least, just to know the limits

Re: Miata Autocross

Sonof,

Here's the map link for this Sunday's Miata Autocross practice meet. You might have to pay $12 though since the facilitator that's going to be monitoring the meet is kind of strict. The meet starts at 9am and ends around 3PM. It's going to be by the BOEING Museum of Flight in South Seattle Area. I'm not sure if I'll be there but I'm going to try and show up.

I'm not sure if this link is inside our firewall but you can PM me if the link doesn't work. I'll be logging in later.
