My fans have been running everyday for the last week and I can tell you, I barely notice them running. I looked and looked at airflow into my stock bumper, and I am glad I have them. I cant see where any air would hit it directly. I am glad that I have it on there.

The block is stock, the fuel rails are stock as well.

That is until I build later...

Jeremy was able to make it in for the lower Wastegate spring. We have sucessfully pulled the car on the dyno over 40 times and done numerous street pulls. We are now sitting at 375whp 361WTQ on 6psi.

After tuning UTEC and UPREV, UPREV is a far superior unit compared... I highly recommend UPREV to anyone, N/A or Forced Induction. It just makes a big difference that the piggyback unit is not fighting the stock computer.

did you have any issues tuning with stock mas or did you have to switch to the PMAS?

ok...so the new tune is not as powerful either. You suck dal...as tedd put it, you are a bad influence! I now have full traction again in 2nd and 3rd, again not fun, but I am able to run full throttle past 1st gear.
As for the seat of your pants dyno, I am no longer being put back into the seat...at least not like it was. I am happy with the tune, the power and Slowmotion Motorsports for the detune. Now I feel much better about running daily on it. I didnt want to blow the motor as I hope to build this motor ( I am a bit of an old school guy about keeping matching numbers, oem equipment and such, from my hot rod days). THis car was my gift to myself from surviving a year of Convoy Security in Iraq. I plan on keeping this one!
Thank you to Corey at SLo MO for the extra effort on the install and I cant wait for the stage 2 and 3!
My final goal-500whp!

The stock maf was used but if I was going to do it again I would of went ahead and got the pmas for Jeremy. We were maxxing out the stock one on the 420whp tune. The car was running out of fuel at the higher rpm on the 9 psi tune as well. As ppl have said, I do not recommend anything over 400whp on a stock configured setup. Return system, pmas, and race gas I would feel comfortable going a bit higher on a stock motor.

dont worry Jeremy.. im sure by next fall you will have the money for your rebuild as i know you are now officially addicted to power. the g35 is a good car to keep since its the first gen of the skyline G's. the G20 doesnt count lol.

good to know. I'll need one then because i'll be over 420 with my built motor.

also, how exactly did you "detune" it? do you pull timing out or what?

jeremy, you should have them put the normal tune on 1 map slot then the big boy tune on another map slot....just in case

I watched the EVO get dropped off with the self ported heads as Kirko put it...and I didnt want that with mine!

I drove around alot yesterday evening and I am very happy with it now. The power is constant with the new map and tune. My HP now tops out at 7k rpms at a consistant increase all the way. Much more manageble than the peak at 6k and drop off of the last tune. It feels consistant like a N/a motor, instead of an explosion of power in the upper bands.

As for " detune" Binder, Changing the waste gate spring changed the PSI output from 10lbs to 6lbs. From there, the stock equipment in the motor was able to be tuned without being maxed out. From what I sent you of the Dyno run, it has now a better torque and Hp lines.

oh ya, i missed that wastegate spring change.

i was just thinking he tuned it differently to have less hp. I was thinking about the decrease in boost.

I've read at some places about shops "running out of injector" so they tune it to lower hp. I was just curious what they change to actually do that (besides boost pressure because that one is pretty obvious).

oh ya, and just as an fyi, if sometime next spring or summer you want to swap a built motor let me know and i can come give a hand. I've taken everything apart on my car by myself (and with all the mistakes done it 2 and 3 times each....lol) so i'm getting real proficient at pulling these motors.
