What's wrong with Maryland police?

first they're in the news for beating up a guy....

and now they arrest a dude for recording audio...after they pulled a gun on him for no reason...

I generally support our cops, but some of them are quite abusive of their authority. Ole' boys club. The price of civil peace and protection I guess.

Let's not jump on the bash-a-cop bandwagon. In the end of the video, you can clearly see a marked MSP marked car. What wasn't shown is the events leading up to the stop. The biker may have failed to pull over right away etc. Who knows. The Trooper should have displayed his badge when he drew his pistol but obviously the Trooper in the marked car behind him was aware of who he was. The biker can claim this and that but he had a marked police car behind him, it's on him if he had failed to yield for it.

EDIT:

There's the link to the other part of the video. Hmmm, 90+ mph wheelie, passing on the right, switching through all the lanes at a time etc. That might explain the way he was treated. Yeah - look at 2:55-3:05 in the link I posted. Those troopers had been behind him for a while and he wasn't stopping. It looked like he realized it at about 2:45 when he started checking his mirrors but there's no way for those cops to know what his intent was.

I'm not posting this to bash cops. I have quite a few police friends actually. But what the plain clothes officer did was just plain wrong. You don't draw your weapon because someone was riding like an idiot. Get out of the car, but your hand on the gun while it's still in the holster and announce that you are police.

Secondly the follow up where they raided his house and confiscated his computers for illegally recording. Does that mean i can't make home videos in a public place in maryland because i might record someone else speaking? I don't know what the judge who signed off on that warrant was thinking...
