I trust you guys...what do you think of this?
So I have the opportunity to trade my 2006 5AT with 47k miles(pictured below) for a 2003 6MT with 52k miles(click link for pics/info). The catch is that the 6MT has a Vortech Supercharger and and some sexy wheels.
My car:
2006 Auto
Liquid Platinum
20" 2pc Petrol wheels
47k miles
X02 exhaust (not in great shape)
Great condition overall; small rip in driver's seat and a scuff on driver door
Possible trade:
2003 6MT
Laser Red
19" Gold Volk SF Winnings
52k miles
Greddy exhaust
Great condition overall; scratch on rear quarter panel that was touched up, steering wheels has some wear
Vortech supercharger v2
OEM Brembos
Sport front lip
Double Din kit with Eclipse head unit (has nav)
I think that pretty much sums it up. One reason I want to do this is that this car is already where I want mine to be (still needs suspension done though, but stereo is started, has lots of power). It has about the same mileage and is basically in the same condition. One of my main concerns is that I don't know enough about engines and superchargers...if something happens, I'd have to take it somewhere. Also, one thing to note is that the seller doesn't have the paperwork for the install of the supercharger.
I think with a drop and some aftermarket bumpers/skirts that this car would be badass. So what do you guys thing? Anything to be wary of? Go for it?

Is is local? If it is take it up to Slomo and have Corey and Kirk look at it and see what they think about it mechanicaly.. Your getting a 3 year older car with 5k more on the dial. It doesnt seem like a bad deal but it seems a little to good of a deal. Why does he want to get rid of it? I dont think the v2 SC will put to much power down to hurt the motor but its hard to tell.

Ben, unfortunately it's not local. It's in Kansas City. He needs a car that his wife can drive and she can't drive a manual. Also, she doesn't like the loud exhaust and whatnot.
One thing I forgot to mention is that I've been wanting a 6MT

Need to know about the motor first and foremost. The VQ35 has never been the most robust motor boosted in stock form. It's always a risk to buy used boost (turbo more so than supercharged) but boost nonetheless. You need many more vital specs. What power he's putting down, as Joe said, how long he's had it boosted, how many issues he's had...etc etc.
Without details on a used boosted car, it's hard to say what you are picking up. On any used car it's wise to get a pre-purchase inspection by someone knowledgeable, in this case it has to be done by someone who knows the VQ platform and has experience with boost. Otherwise it's a shot in dark as to when it's going to blow and how much you'll be out.

Thanks for the input thus far, guys. Here's a picture of the engine...dunno if that'll help at all, but here goes:

My main concern is that I don't know **** about forced induction and if something goes wrong, I'm going to be up a creek without a paddle. If I was more knowledgeable I'd be on my way to Kansas City right now, haha.

seems like a good deal..id say best bet is to get the serial number for the SC,call vortec and see if its had any probs, when it was sold..and also fond out how many miles are on it.
Honestly you'd be driving a car you put no effort into... to me that's a no... but to each his or her own.
I like that my car has stuff that I have put some blood and sweat into... makes it feel more mine.
