Yep that was my car. It was the first Haltech system TDI had fitted and to my knowledge the first in the UK. I did some homework on all the forums including aussie ones then asked them to check the Haltech out, they was pretty impressed and i notice that they are using it now on most of their 350z builds.
They originally wanted to fit the HKS F.con vpro on mine which is a good system but has no cam control unless you use the HKS valcon kit with it which on its own costs over £1k, so for the full HKS system you have to pay around £2.5k whereas the Haltech has everything and more for £1.2k. It also comes with a plug and play loom for the G35. It can also be fitted by any competent tuner as you dont need to be an agent for the software as it comes with the kit, unlike the HKS stuff.
Also the haltech can be used with all sorts of engine build. I have the APS TT kit and cosworth internals , my car is in at the moment at TDI and we are looking to fit the cosworth heads, racing valves and camshafts all of which work fine with this ecu system. BTW cams are a must mod if you want to get a proper and worthwhile tune done even without going FI.
I believe that Cosworth have built a VQ35 engine that puts out
420 bhp N/A

here are the cossie heads and cams

I keep looking at the TT or Vortech super charger Envy list but £5k+ in one go is such a serious outlay for a day to day car, and thats just the kit, I have no idea how much needs a rebuild to handle the increase in power....though after seeing your setup I feel like I'm a cheapskate lol. I prefer to buy in little chunks and try not to add up the total, and I'm leaving my plastic at home everytime I need to drive anywhere near Revolutions in Gateshead.

You seem to be building up my 'I can dream' list from the Envy website. I've cast an eye many a time over the cossie internals, and I'm sure Envy had the Cosworth engine listed last year. If you dont mind me asking what whp are you running now?

If I can decide on which one I'll hopefully have a new plenum and spacer by early March, I already have a pipercross cold air kit on, and then I just need to decide on the exhuast. Once all thats done I'll order a EMU and a tuning session. Hopefully that little lot, along with my KW coils, will keep me happy during my Sunday drives in the country

I wonder how members would feel about a national meet? It would be great to see some of the things people are doing and meet up. And I'm fairly sure the JDM import magazines would be interested in covering it, hell Banzai had a whole page on a Cube meet! Either that or crash one of the 350z meets planned in Wales or Scotland?

That's what I had in mind, just wasn't sure how much interest it would get. And a few if the Zed guys on their forum asked if I would be going to either of their big meets....think they just want to point and laugh at my back seat
Actually the 350-uk.com forum is very friendly and full of useful topics.

Yes they are a nice bunch, i have met a few at TDI's when they do the rolling road days. I tend to go to shows with a couple of clubs, either *** 'n' crazy, who are a small midlands based club that dont take things too seriously (enjoy the beer and camping) or i go with the skyline owners.com (the blue site) they also are top lads.
The skyline lads are doing a trip to the Nurburgring from 23-28 July. Does anyone fancy it, it includes the ferry, hotel or camping, you book your own track time if you want to go on the ring. be nice to have a few of our cars in the skyline convoy going down there Let me know.

I had it dynoed last year on TDI's hub dyno which gives an actual RWHP not a calculated one that Rolling roads give. It made 498 rwhp but only had it on 0.9 boost. With the new cams and heads the boost will be put up to around 1.2 and the valves will allow a rev limit of 10.5K so i would hope to be around 550-600 rwhp. i think this is about as far as she will go without sleeving the pistons etc.

here is a really good vid of how the cosworth internals and cams hold up on the VQ.

G35

Does anyone know of any in this country?
Lad at work swears blind he saw one near Newcastle with a carbon hood. I want to slap him around the back of the head and tell him to stop being silly but he's insisting that's what he saw
