Just to let you know If they check it and the box is fooked i have my origional box for a 2003 still with only 40k miles on it. i also have an upgraded torque convertor which is good for 450 bhp which was sent to the US for the upgrade and cost me £400. My new car is 6MT so i have no need for it.
hopefully they can sort it for you but if not it gives you an option

Couple of questions from prosective owner

Hi there ,

I have read this great thread from end to end now and would like to ask a couple of questions as I'm looking to get one of these awesome looking motors.

What VED bad are they in, ie how much ids the road tax per year?
What kind of MPG do you get
Does it require 97/98 Octane fuel?

I currently have an S2000 and just fall into the 400 quid bracket (by 2g/km)

Thanks in advance

Neil

Hi Neil,
Road tax for the 350gt skyline is £185 .00 for a year !!!
Yes thats correct, its by default because there are no cars in the uk to compare it with(parellel imports )
If you want an imported supra it would be the same as a uk model,if you want a mazda unos (mx 5) its the same as an MX5
So go and grab one,yes they are very good cars !!!
All the threads regarding fuel to use indicate you can use normal grade petrol, however I use premium tesco, which is higher octane than sainsbury/esso premium, must also add that on occasions I have had to fill up with normal and it seems to make little difference !!!
Maybe its all in the mind !!
Fuel consumption is down to you, with 300bhp on tap its your choice, you can be sensible and get over 20 miles to the gallon easy,a long run even more,if you choose to rag it every where its going to cost !!!
Hope this helps !! They really are good cars !!!

Thanks again for the info, I certainly would feel better giving the govt less of my money to give to banking bosses for their bonuses so £180 sounds good!

It will probably be just after winter when I'll sell the S (winters not good for selling 2 seat convertibles!). But until then I'll keep an eye on the forums.

More noob questions I'm afraid, does anyone here service their own 350GT? how do you go about getting oil filters/air filters plugs etc. are these the same as for the 350Z?

One point about the Sat Nav units. A friend of mine owns a car audio and security company, so I'll have a chat about costs for conversion on the screen system. It would I'm sure be a replacement rather than adaption/translation of the maps.

will keep you posted.

Cheers

Neil

My tax is also £185 pa which is most bizarre as thats the same as my Renault Megane 1.6 - now work that one out!

BTW - I do my own minor services, but like to get the car properly serviced every year as I can't tell if things are getting worn out, are faulty etc and I have a good *** garage nearby who tell me all these things. Many parts from the engine/chassis/suspension are 350z so getting oil and air filters is really easy. Many of us 350GT owners have upgraded some of the basics - air filters, exhausts, springs etc and there are many companies offering parts depending on budget.
Get one - I have had mine for nearly four years and love owning it. Its even rarer than my previous car - an S15 Silvia, so you do get alot of looks and attention when driving around.

hi guys, add another one to the list. I have a 2003 350gt. It is an auto with tiptronic. silver with nismo front lip and rear spoiler. I have half leather interior and 19's. not sure what they are yet as came on the car from japan. I have fitted an injen induction kit and a blox plennum spacer, as well as better oil and radiator caps. I also have a carbon engine cover coming. I have got all my parts from the states. It is actually a lot cheaper even including the shipping. I look on ebay usa, under infiniti g35 and look in parts and accessories, there are over 100 pages of all sorts of things. if anyone is still looking to get one, look at www.autobmc.com as they have a couple and are really helpful with info and help. that is where I bought mine. they import only the best cars as well as parts from Japan. hope to hear from uyou guys soon. anyway, have attached a couple of pics so hope you like it. cheersUK Drivers?-350-gt-slvr-modified.jpg

I'd like to know how your tax is sooooo low. Mines is £400 for the year. My renewal was just at the end of September there.

Tax is down to the CO2 emissions so you're just extremely lucky if you're paying that.

I run mines on Shell V-Power. Cost's a bit more but worth it.

On another note.

I am currently looking for a standard set of wheels for the V35. The standard 18's or even 17's the car comes on. Not caring about tyres as i am wanting to take my 20's off for the winter and get a standard set of rims with winter tyres on them.

Anyone point me in a general direction os some or where to get some 2nd hand??
