Welcome Owlse,

You wont regret it, but probably the wrong place to get an unbiased view. I owned a Lexus gs300 before and although a good car the 350gt feels more of a drivers car and gets far more reaction and talking points than the Lexus ever got. The biggest plus for me though was being able to go to the Japanese performance car shows and meets which enables you to mix with some people that have built some truely monster cars. Be prepared to get the bug though.

If so am not a mechanic by any means ( don't even have a spanner ).

But willing to try anything to fix the problem.

Have you got any idea how much the parts are going to cost yet?

Thanks but reseting assumes you are accustomed with the part. I do not even know what an actuator is ( if this is the offical name of the part I am looking for )

I've been searching through the manuals for the window motor ( actuator? ) and even this is proving difficult

https://g35driver.com/forums/faq-diy/107032-sticky-all-2003-2006-g35-coupes-service-manual-pdf-format.html

Like I said I'm not a mechanic. Put a computer in front of me and I'm a up and coming Guru but spanners and clenches!?£$

It appears to be a common problem over there, but it looks like a good idea to get some one to try the reset button on the widow motor !!!

Sure definitely planning to do that ( was part of my weekend TTD, [things to do] )

Have read a great deal of posts on this site concerning the issue I have. There are a lot of different solutions. Some people have flat out bought a replacement, some have bought nissan equivalents, some have taken the unit apart, some have pressed the reset, some have dismantled the whole door and reassembled.

All have reported a degree of success. All of which I am prepared to investigate and try ( that's what my weekend will be ).

I am just trying to following all possible solutions while also being very honest about my current abilities to achieve each one.

Hope no one feels I am not taking their valuable help seriously as this is definitely not the case .

Still really interested in the cost of the motor as this is one of the solutions I still hope to try.

Hi OJ.

Just a quick update. I've just looked at my door actuator (the one I took out cos it stopped working) and I can now confirm that there is no reset button. In fact it's a sealed unit and although its not totally impossible to open it up, it would be a nightmare to try and put back together.
And for you and anyone who doesn't know what an actuator is:
In the end of both doors, there's a door lock. On the back of the lock (the bit you can't see inside the door) is a plastic box (easiest way to describe it). There are three cables coming out of it and one female electrical multi-pin socket. The three cables connect to: the outside door handle; the inside handle and the inside door lock control. When you use your key fob this is what locks & unlocks your door.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Airsoft Andy for that explanation.
Unless It also effects the window mechanism I do not think I have a problem with the actuator

My problem is with the passenger side window motor. This is what I'm looking to solve. It is my believe that it is this motor that is malfunctioning.
