The method is done by etching the parts with strong chromic acid, following with electroless copper plating, a conventional plating process (Copper/Nickel/Chrome) would be applied after this stage. I can find out the compnay that does it my old boss had his tail section done on his CBR.

^^^ Interesting… however, uncommon…

Typically it would be sprayed or vaporized/vacuum – like these guys (and others) do: http://www.cvvacuumplaters.com/the_process.htm

I've never heard of plastic actually being chrome plated...

right... but haven't really "learned" anything... I cant find info on the method he mentioned... I've never heard of plating plastic... there are various ways of getting the effect... so yeah, it would be great to know of a new option - just haven't yet.

I'm not rushing the guy... I'm piggy-backing on your "learning" comment...

it ran up to $250 for him, got it from him for less then half, all i know is that its still oem and it looks good haha

also the guy who polished the plenum(locally) also can chrome plastics, i forgot what he said on how its done, but all i know is that he used a lot of big fancy words and names lol

can you ask him if he knows of any place in the states (So Cal preferably) that does this...

^he doesn't know about states, since we are in canada, but if you google it you should be able to find something it the states, maybe even in so cal
