Mixed oppinons on new headlights feedback welcome

I just modified a set of 06 headlights i did them in a flat black but i think a gloss black might have looked better... in the direct sunlight they look kind of grey to me....

I have a set just like yours, flat black. I too hate them at times, but I dunno. It looks good. I wish they didnt appear grey/brown at times, but I am pretty happy with them.

On a side note, are those JLine 10RL3's? Anymore pics?

it does look greyish, maybe its just the paint u used? I used flat black paint on my grille and it looks dark in the sun.

Ok i lied, i forgot i used satin black paint on my grille. I also plan on having my hadlights done with it.

Here is the pic of the grille. its not glossy...its not flat.. its sorta oem in the middle.

Anyone know how semigloss black compares to satin black?

Came out nice...i used a grey primer then low gloss krylon black looks around the same...

OP..it looks greyish because thatshow flat black usually comes out IMO.

just try Dupli Color Low-Gloss black, it's perfect if you're looking for a matte look but also want a little bit of shine, thats what I used, and here take a look at the result.. it matches up really good with my matte black grill and Nismo inlets... and you mentioned you have problems when the sun shines on your lights, it doesnt reflect right.... well look in this first picture I got here you can see in the top right of the light you can see the sun shining directly on that spot, and you can get a good sense of the reflection and the look you'll get from the sun with this paint...

if you want a full blackout i would go w/ the overlays over that. it does diminish output a bit

the low gloss black is more of a semi-gloss to me.

I dig the matte black personally.
