How about a boosted 09 sedan? You get a couple of extra doors for your family!

Obviously, don't say anything about the FI or any engine/electrical mods for that matter. Like the others have said, insurance will never cover those and could only give them reason to point fingers.

Let us know how things go.

Move that intercooler or start calling it a radiator.

this is not necessarily true... I had no special vehicle coverage on my 03.5 sedan which had about $13k worth of mods when it was totaled. I went back and forth with my insurance company for a while and got them to add almost $8k on top of the base price for some of the mods (they originally offered me like 22k and I ending up getting 29k) They figure diminished retail value for the parts depending on how old the mods were. receipts are important!

Sad things happen to the best of us....!

Never, ever volunteer any information about mods/changes to your insurance.
Doing so will only hurt your chances of coming out close on your claim. Damn
I hate seeing the pic of your G after the fire, that really hoits....
Seeing your G at Hai's BBQ I was in aha at your ability to build such a
sweet ride. Sorry this happened to you! Good Luck with the recovery, looking
forward to your next build....Toys for Tots event is in November....be ready.

they're going to send an adjuster to inspect her car. And they're probably going to ask her for a complete list of mods\added parts. i think the insurance inspector would be a little suspicious if she didnt have (for example) the turbo kit, intercooler, etc.. on the list when they clearly see its on the car.
