What about chrome

.. Just put back everything that was taken out of the trunk and has zero clearance issue..

I like the removable bar idea just incase you need the trunk space.

Is it possible to make a cf sleeve for it?

or just make it out of a rectangle cf tube. Could Easily fill the ends with resin for added mounting support. Or just mill metal inserts for the ends.
