For sure Mike, let me know when you've got everything done.
Great Work, Mike & Darren!
Mike...
The Bar and Brackets look "Awesome"!
The Black Chrome on the Bar and the Black Chrome Powder Coat really came out "fantastic"!!
The pictures don't do the finishes justice...In person...Wow! NICE!!

I scrolled through this thread briefly to see if i could find an answer to my question, but havent been successfull
So here is goes:
Is the majority of the flex between the 2 towers in the center(vertically wise/where majority of the companies are placing the bar)? One would think that the majority of the movement would be between the tops of the 2 towers (higher than the usual RSB). Im thinking that everyone is placing the bars center because of the convience of the oem mounting brackets.
Please correct me if im wrong.
Also, someone mentioned the idea of having two bars for increased rigidity. So I thought id take that idea one step higher. How about two bars criss crossing, or a X bar? Either or the 2 with your adjustable ends, so that it can still be a "bolt on" item that'll fit anyones car. Wouldnt that rid the issue of any possible vertical movement?
Just a thought....

We also assume that the "majority" of the flex would be at the upper most portion of the Shock Tower Enclosure. Placing a "horizontal" Bar in this location may be the "optimum" choice but when we first "proto-typed" our set-up location, we were very pleased with the results and have left the design where it currently resides. Too much stiffness may create a situation where the rear "breaks loose". A little flex is not a bad thing for a street car. Also, the vertical length of the Shock Tower Enclosure is "shorter" in the Coupes (as opposed to the Sedans), so I would imagine Coupes would have a slight advantage in performance.

We pondered this idea, for a while, and decided (for the time being) that we would stay with this "current" configuration. The reason: we've "tested" this configuration, both on and off of the Track, and have been very pleased with the results. The back end of the vehicle tends to be more responsive, even with the single Bar. To "satisfy" the curious though, we may do the double set-up sometime in the future. The "X" configuration sounds interesting!
...thanks Mike!

Or if the X design isnt pleasing to the eye, but the concept is there... how about 2 "Y"s coming together @ the center. This way each side has 2 mounting points, but a single bar goes across the center....
kinda like this

and maybe to rid the pivoting points, one can have the extension portion of the bar dead center of the bar, instead of having the extension portion @ the ends.

for reference to understand my "mig-shift" drawing, heres a drawing of your current design

I want mine black chromed now

If I do it. I'll leave the brackets alone, but I'll get the nuts painted black.
Or a little more like /-----\
I noticed that I have mine tightened down more than well everyone else. Should I worry?

I suggest powder coating or black chrome plating the nuts too... don’t paint them - no matter what you use as primer or adhesion promoter, they will chip when you put a wrench to them.
Your brackets will look good as is, good call on leaving them... mine were suppose to be a charcoal "crinkle black" powered coat which is textured like the side panels - the idea was to blend in so you don’t notice them... the color got botched... I thought about having it stripped and black chroming them - but I would have had to remove the Rare JDM plate and out of respect for the guys I didn’t want to do that (not paying attention to the fact that it wouldn’t be seen at all, even though Darren mentioned it to me
) – I will probably eventually remove the brackets and have them done a different color (I’m **** about stuff like that – some people say I have OCD *ehem, Darren, Randy) – for the record, in person they don’t look like the pictures.Anyway, your bar looks good as is too

1.) Loosen the Jam Nuts
2.) Turn the Bar until it's loose.
3.) Then reset the Bar by turning it until it becomes "snug"!
4.) Re-tighten the Jam Nuts.
You should be OK as is but, resetting the Bar is really easy!
