Thats another reason I don't know about a DIY it is income for SxExCx and I did ask him for pointers last year.....so i would hate to take food off his table after he helped me out. I wasn't going to mention he helped me ..I thought that might lead to a pile of PMs with people looking for help. Hit the OP up for a DIY he does alot better work than I do.

I dunwanna screw anyone eirther obviously but in my experience even if you put a diy up the majority of people won't have the skills, time, materials, or desire to do it themselves. 9/10 times, thediyers will find a way to do it themselves n the rest would rather pay to not have to worry about the labor even if the process was laid out in front of them.
It's totally up to the people that know how to do it obviously, but I'm pretty sure a few clever google searches could teach me anything I wanted to know about metal polishing, and forums are supposed to be places where enthusiasts share info about cool things like this.

It is not like it takes a rocket scientist to do this, just more time and investment than is reasonable for most people. I recommend speaking to SxExCx about getting one.
Here is a nice DIY http://www.poleringsguide.se/english/
At a minimum you will need a kit like this http://caswellplating.com/buffs/alpolkit.htm
along with a grinder or electric corded drill, various sandpapers and final polishes. Probably close to $100 in equipment investment if you already have the power tools, then add in probably a whole day's worth of work (8-10 hrs)
