Ray, engine bay looks really good. Great job Randy, I wish you were closer, i would have you work on my engine bay imediately.

Thanks Lou! Randy did a great job on the engine bay. A 7hr trip from sac to so cal is well worth it if your thinking about doing it.

Randy did a few things for me Sunday. Installed & Polished NRG PS tank, Weapon R overflow tank and a couple brackets chromed Love the result and will be getting more done..

for those of us on a budget, are there any downsides to running a universal steel braided sleeve on the different hoses?

The only downside, IMO, is that it won't look as nice. You really have to work at it to make the weave look uniform at curved sections.

steel braided line from summit or even jegs through ebay is not that expensive

^I wish. The braided lines I got from Earl's were much more than that. Add chrome hose clamps to those braided lines and things add up very quickly.

EDIT: I just checked its $6-$10 per foot depending on the diameter of the hose.

85 dollars for 20 feet. just over 4 bucks a foot.

first of all, "just over 4 bucks" is not "a couple bucks"... more importantly why the hell would he buy 20 feet???

To purchase the length and diameter needed for our engine bay it's closer to $6+ per foot... if you want to do coolant hoses it's much more...

your right. im wrong. im not going to argue about braided line. i was just using that link as an example anyways. and sorry i wasnt technical when i said a couple bucks. next time ill say a couple bucks times 2. 4 dollars is still a couple bucks
