Using sleeving can be very tricky, especially on curved hoses. I have seen many people fail in trying to sleeve hose. There is also different qualitiy of sleeving. Buying the cheap stuff at the local auto parts store is not worth it, it will just look like a cheap attemp. Get the Earl's sleeving from Summit.

And yes, buying all the hose ends especially if you get A/N fittings, will really add up in a hurry.

Ya, Tom is not the most friendly person to deal with. But he really knows his stuff.

I have been going there for so long and bought so much, he doesnt give me a hard time.

If you go in there knowing exactly what you want, he is friendly.

Marcus there are some of us vendors who have discounts with these companies. Maybe I'll get a hose thread up..

Plenty of us started with the local parts store sleeving. I wouldn't say fail just because that is what they can afford at the time...

yep, I went in there with Darren one day - I could tell he was a curmudgeon... but I knew what I was looking for and he only had a small bit left - gave me a good deal (even though it was still expensive for what it was )

Take the Time to read carefully. Didn't say anything about cost, but about the execution.

The cost does come into play when you try some not so good product and it does not work out properly and you end up throwing it away. So spend the few bucks more and get what works the first time. This can apply to anything that is purchased.

just wrap your OEM hoses in fishnet stocking and spray paint silver - then remove the stockings and you have yo'self some nifty wannabe braided hoses... easy execution and cheap - it's win

BTW, by easy "execution", I mean if anyone actually does this - we put you in the gas chamber!

So it sounds like you know where to go, care to share? I assume the quality is the same as Earl's. I'm pretty much done with braided hoses in my bay other than a few here and there, but it may help others who are looking for this kind of stuff.

most places that sell hydrolic fitting n hoses can get u steel braided hoses with a flexible rubber core.. Any shop tailored to performance parts is gonna mark
up their products even though everyone gets the same stuff from the same distributors

^ I'd love to never have to buy another single thing from Tom. It'd be a big help if you could list the names of a few shops where you've found comparable products
