A heavy duty angle grinder with a cut off blade to work through the hard rubber core down to the metal frame then a grinder disc to flatten the metal frame, give it the right shape, and smooth it out. Then some hard rubber filler to fill in the top side of the bottom of the wheel on each side of the vertical spoke. Then the entire wheel gets covered in high density foam, then a faux suede layer, then alcantara

I did do a small DIY thread on how to attempt it yourself, not all that hard just time consuming

So I decided to make one more alcantara steering wheel for another member on the forums. This time all black alcantara with yellow stitching. Maybe he'll chime in with installed pics. Here's a few pics.

And here is one I did for myself and don't judge me, I like the stripe

Lots of work, but I think these came out nice and def beats the pencil thin oem wheel.

Cheers!

Can I get you to make me one? I have the alcantara suede already

Hey man, you doing great job wrapping those steering wheels.
I have a question, how did you bent steering wheel on the bottom?
I have extra steering wheel (G35) in my basement stripped down and i was planning to wrap it up but really was looking for more details on how to bent the wheel.
Bellow is the picture of my first project, (on my car)
For all haters, who don't like the way it looks and saying things about greasy fingers.
1st, don't sweat before you drive
2nd stop masturbating before you drive
3rd get a girlfriend
4th make sure your hands clean at all times (hint) this way you have a slight chance to get a girl or her notice your crying and bitching about everything ***.
