Custom alcantara steering wheel

Just completed another one. This one is thickened, alcantara and ostrich leather, red stitching, and flat battom. And the pics:

One more I just finished, this one thickened, covered in alcantara, flat bottom, and blue and white stitching. This one took longer than I expected especially due to slightly thicker stitching I used...holy **** was that a pain . Anyways hope the owner enjoys it and will chime in with installed pics:

So I decided to make one more alcantara steering wheel for another member on the forums. This time all black alcantara with yellow stitching. Maybe he'll chime in with installed pics. Here's a few pics.

And here is one I did for myself and don't judge me, I like the stripe

Lots of work, but I think these came out nice and def beats the pencil thin oem wheel.

Cheers!

honestly this is the dumbest thing I have seen so far..
wait till its hot outside and your sweaty palms and hands are all over the steering wheel...that alcantara will lose is plushness and become some flat piece od discolored fabric...

I'll have to disagree, im not using some el cheapo microsuede off ebay. This is the real deal (and it ain't exactly cheap either per yard). There's a reason all the exotics use genuine alcantara, it doesn't wear nearly as fast, it doesn't fade, and feels great. Look up porsche, lambo, ferrari, you'll see they use the exact same fabric for their suede interiors.

If a genuine alcantara wrapped steering wheel is the dumbest thing you've ever seen, your screen name does you justice.

I do know that alcantara comes in a slew of colors, but I haven't attempted one other than black. I suppose if you could find an off-white color that matches the willow nicelly, then sure I don't see why not. Off white with either black or red stitching...that might look pretty good.

^^^^ That Porsche steering wheel is exactly what got me going with the stripe

So I was thinking some more about this and just ordered an old willow steering wheel of ebay. I'll see if I can match the color to some samples of Alcantara when I get it. Who knows might be onto something here.
