exhaust rattle

very bad rattle in my 2006 g35 coupe exhaust. the shop said it was because of my y pipe but that doesn't sound to right to me just trying to make sure before i spend my money on a new one. thanks in advanced

FRUG who is "the shop?" Most exhaust rattles are caused by the converter covers! Correct fix is to have them welded eliminating the chance of the noise coming back. Take your coupe to a recommended "Muffler Shop" they deal with leaks and noises 10 hours a day 6 days a week aka 10/6...Gary

If it's at idle it is the heat shields breh.

I thought you might have been taking the dealerships advice. Was your G on a rack with it running so they could find the noise or were they looking under the hood to make this guesstmate?

Not positive I dropped off my car for other reasons and had them check it out while it was there
