Sugarspun photoshoot (ob-photo)
Finally got to shoot Sugarspun's ride. Been meaning to shoot his car for a while now. Found out he's practically my neighbor so we hooked up and got it done. Great guy, nice car. He opted for the Premium Pkg so I've only got his day shots done but I should have his night shots finished by tonight. Enjoy the pics guys. Hope you like em so far Sugarspun.

Do you have any recomendations for a website or book about photography for an amateur like me?

Yea. Put down the book, get off the website, and go have fun with the camera. Experience is always the best teacher. The more you use it, the better you'll get.

Well I would love to go out at take photos right now, but I am sitting in an airport terminal. I am heading down to Phoenix because my father races in the Grand Am racing series and I am going to shoot photos.
If you dont mind and have time, what would I do to have only the car in focus and the background blurred? I want them to look more like action shots. (I dont even sound like an amateur, I sound like someone who has never seen a camera before, haha)
Thanks a ton man!

All about the panning shot in that situation bro. Drop the shutter speed to around 1/60 and track the car. Keep it nice and smooth and try to keep the car in the frame.

I've seen a lot of those translucent hood shots on the Subaru forums back when I was into those cars. BTW, glad I got a G!
Man, those shots are freakin' sweet! That shot with the gold brembos is so crisp! All of the shots are so nice! I really dig the 14th picture down with the tire turned out a bit.
