Oh - there is no mounting bracket mid-tube... but clearly there is no flex for clearance either... looks like cutting either end is your only choice. DaveO might have some ideas - or hopefully the shop you mentioned working on it can make it work...

Edit - I just looked at the pics again... can the interior (blue) rings on each end be removed? It looks like removing two from one end or one from each end might give enough clearance...

BTW, does the blue TBS match pretty good? It looks like it might. There is a new darker color blue now, but I think you got one of the previous more royal blue, which probably matches your theme better... Have you considered powder coating your plenum blue?

Thanks for the tips OC. I do believe there actually might be a mounting bracket on the underside, but I don't remember. I will see what I can do with the pi-thon locks if my tech couldn't make it fit. Do you know who offers good powder coating services?

the place I use is out here (in Anaheim) - great service, good pricing and quick turn-around... of course since you're in Chi-Town you'd have to ship it... no worse than shipping your entire pumpkin to TS for differential swap though… PM me if you want the contact info.

The spacer didn't fit my setup, so it is up for sale. krtape3 gets first dibs out of courtesy if he wants it this weekend, otherwise I will post a fs in classifieds.

Without spacer

4500 160whp
5000 185whp
5500 208whp
6000 225whp
6500 228whp
7000 228whp

Average power: 206whp

With the spacer

4500 160whp
5000 185whp
5500 209whp
6000 225whp
6500 229whp
7000 232whp

Average power: 207whp

Ya, I see where you're going on this. It wasnt a big deal to dyno with & without spacer either, cuz I was at TS, & we were gonna tune the FX anyway. All that said, there is something to be said for the Butt-Dyno, & I'm telling you, you feel this spacer working. I'm not trying to sell this item, but those that have tried, like it.
I know my numbers overall do not seem fantastic, especially with the mods I have, But at least they are honest numbers, unlike alot of the BS found on the boards. My ride, although it does weigh in fairly high is pretty darn quick.

Thanks for the breakdown Dave.

But I have one question/comment. With gains as little as that, could that be acceptable variation in between pulls not just the spacer itself?

I definitely know it's doing something because my car is less hesitant (more responsive) at 2K rpms on the highway in 6th gear.

It's just with gains that are very minimal in that aspect, it's hard to say specifically that the spacer is what is causing the gain/loss.

The before and after difference could definitely be a variation in back to back dynos. It's a fact that these motors tend to show power increases over 3 successive dynos. The increases are minor (2-3whp), but they seem to be pretty consistent across most VQ35DEs that get dynoed. I know that with my old VQ30, I typically saw a variation of about 5whp between my first and last dyno. Most cars I've seen on the dyno exhibit the same thing. Turbo cars on the otherhand can show differences of nearly 20whp between successive runs. Heat soak and slightly inconsistent boost levels between runs account for that.

I wouldn’t suggest spending anything if it wasn't worth having... I've spent enough time and effort researching, testing, and facilitating the GB and ancillary interest to equal the price of 100 of these things! – It’s incredible the amount of effort this thing has taken – and I don’t even manufacture the thing…

It's quite simply actually... there is enough info out here to determine if it's right for you. If it's not then it's not. If you aren't sure that it is I wouldn't spend a dime if I were you (or anyone else who isn’t sure).

at this point the best bet is one of two ways... wait for another GB if there is enough interest... or wait for it to be available through retailers...

Who’s "they"?... don't lump this in with some scam - if you think this is some kind of profitable scam you are truly ignorant. Look at the history of how this whole thing got started… educate yourself on what has been done with this mod…

Its fine for people that haven’t even tried it to sit back and say it doesn’t work… some of the very same people say that about a bunch of mods – that happen to work very well on my car…

I just think it’s foolish for anyone to make decisions based on such nonsense… but quite honestly I couldn’t care less if no one else wants one. I’m way too busy to spend the amount of time I have to help get it to the people that wanted it.

It’s on over 55 cars – if it wasn’t enjoyed by the vast majority of those users you would be hearing all kinds of impressions that indicate this. The beta test period was a like it buy it, don’t like it return it offer… of over 20 people, only one was given back.

There’s really not much more to say guys. You can beat it to death… it is what it is. It’s on my car and my car has responded very well to it… as have many, many others.

For those of you that think I’m so damn creative that I am BSing you about all this… wow – you really have more time on your hands than me if you think something with this much history could have possibly been fabricated.
