It's probably how Fujita can claim 10hp on it's intakes.
That’s fine. Like I said there have been plenty installed without resetting with gains... Tony mentioned it regarding the dyno he and I did for this spacer. However I don't feel anything is conclusive. If there had not been as many additional vehicles that have tested this TBS (with and without ECU reset) I might feel different.

In any event - an ECU reset won't hurt. If someone feels it will alter the ability to tell true gains or not, then don't do a reset.

Just received mine in the mail.. will be installing shortly. Also, I sound dampended the hood last night, so will be able to better detect any changes in exhaust/engine.

Cheap enough mod to not try out...will post back soon.

OMG sorry i'm gonna vent a little, but it took me FOREVER to install...of course i have only myself to blame. Everything was going smoothly and i had two bolts off the throttle body, and when i hit up the third one (bottom left one) because of the awkward angle i didn't have the hex nut in all the way and i ended up STRIPPING the bolt. I must have a spent at least 2 hr trying a bunch of different things (hammering a nut in, dremeling a notch for a screwdriver, etc) and the awkward location didn't make things any easier! Anyway i ended up drilling through the bolt head to weaken it with a 1/4' drill but and using a hammer and a piece of metal to finally knock the bolt head off. All the tension was at the bolt head too because the throttle body slid write off and i was able to hand loosen the hex bolt shaft right off. Anyway from there install was a breeze.

Initial impressions. I dunno if there is a placebo effect but the car does rev through the rpms a lot faster in each gear. My car is weird sometimes though because sometimes it feels stronger. I did perform an ECU reset so that may be it...i dunno? Only time will tell if it consistently will rev faster. Anyway it was a nice cheap mod and it can't hurt to give it a shot, thanks again OCG35 for setting it up!

^^^your welcome. Sorry you had trouble getting the bottom bolt out - the angle can be a little tricky... Glad you got in installed and you’re happy with it!

Packaging: Made me LOL. Instructions were clear for people who need them.

Install: Took ~30 minutes. Would have been faster but I kept dropping the alan key. Make sure you don't strip your heads, that would be the biggest pain in the *** ever. Use a 5mm alan key. GENTLY tap it with a hammer to ensure that it is properly seated. Use a cheater bar on the end of it for more torque.

Results: Not sure yet, only drove to work and I didn't get out of 6th gear til my exit. However, I believe it helps the car have a smoother acceleration at lower RPMs in 6th (around 2000).

Recommendation: It's one of the inexpensive (wording people, it isn't cheaply made) mods we can buy. Even if it shows no HP gain on the dyno, you need to get it or you're just ugly and not in the cool crowd. And Santa will not be visiting your house this year.

Yeah, when I opened the package I was like WTF? hahah but then I used the bounty paper towels to wipe my hands after the install. I guess, as a suggestion for shipping, invest in some ziploc bags? Still a nice quality product though.

I bought one of these things from the vendor off Ebay a while back for about the same price as the group buy. Other than the packaging, it looks quite well made. Vic seemed to be pretty good to deal with.

Haven't had a chance to install it yet, but I'll post impressions once I do.

I got mine and installed it. Just took an hour or so. My problem is that I still retained the copper gasket that came with my motordyne 5/16" spacer. Not sure if I should have took it out or not but I decided to leave it on.

I just have the basic mods. Hi-flow cats, 5/16 spacer, stillen intake, grounding kit. I do notice that my engine revs harder than before. This product doesn't make neck jerking power nor did it claim to. I did notice when I put the hammer down the engine reved quickly to redline before shifting (I have AT). There is slightly more power but I haven't been able to tell at what RPM.

I would say this product is worth the money. Don't expect some major power but for under a 100 bucks and less than 30 mins to install for most people....

Great deal IMHO

Got the spacer on, easy enough.
It seems to be throwing The CEL light. Tried the pedal reset numerous times, to no result. Also noticed a higher than normal idle by about 350 rpm. Engine seems to idle up and down a bit, while it was very steady before the mod. The only other thing I did, was degrease & wipe out the carbon deposits on the throttle body, but I doubt that would have caused any problems.

Can anyone chime in on this with similar prob or remedy?

I'm have an appt at TS tomorrow for reflash, so I was hoping to solve this before I go down there.

yes, cleaning the TB probably did create the problem... similar has happened to me in the past - when you move the throttle plate it will mess up the idle. For me the ECU reset procedure and throttle relearn procedure below fixed it. Give this a try: (be sure to do an ECU reset too)

Holy Crap!
More counting
Do you think it was a bad idea to clean the TB?
It did looked a bit grimy.
Did you need to do all those resets? I originally thought that the ECU reset basically covered the whole enchilada of resets

Did you unplug the tb from the harness? That would mess up the calibration

Absolutely not... if you had a lot of build up, cleaning was a good thing and you will notice better response (at least I did)... you can try a basic ECU reset... when I had the problem the procedure listed and an ECU reset ended up doing the trick - you might need to do both, but try just the ECU first and see if that helps (basic ECU reset procedure is several posts up.

Yes. I believe that was part of the install sheet, although I didnt really use it for the install.
I remember it said something to the fact that you need to "put it (TB) down carefully" I cant find that sheet. If that were the case, everyone would have this problem. Can someone also confirm that the larger grooves are the in(side that attaches to TB), & the tapered grooves are the out (side that attaches to plenum). This is the way I put it on cuz it made sense to me.

Lost the stinkin install sheet
