What it does? . . . Improves your G's everyday drivability and adds a BIG
to your driving equation.
Motordyne, I feel, has afforded the '03 and '04 G owners an inexpensive and proven bolt-on mod via their plenum spacer. I have read many pleased reviews by these said owners. However, by the same token, Tony had forgotten about the '05 6MT owners, whom have the so called "Rev Up" engine. Well . . . Motordyne's new MREV has corrected this slight oversight.

I cannot wait to see what else Motordyne has up its sleeves . . . I know Tony will come through, again.

For those of you, whom are still following this thread . . . Since I have installed MREV, I have bettered my mpg by 2 to 3 mpg. This was an unexpected bonus. Three full tanks of gas later and under spirited driving conditions, while testing MREV . . . I have realized that it is no fluke, it's conclusive.
I do alot of city driving in San Francisco, especially in the downtown area. My city/freeway ratio is about 50/50. When you consider the stop and go traffic here in the Bay Area and my shifting at 4k to 5k rpm in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears . . . I am quite pleased. I ride 4th gear a bit higher. I love 4th gear on the freeways. Now, 4th gear affords me a few more options, if you know what I mean.
Oh, my mpg now is some 18 to 19 mpg under the above mentioned driving conditions. Prior to the MREV mod, I had to shift at or below 3k rpm to achieve the same mpg. Hehehe . . . I don't need the G's 6th gear anymore.
Personally, I am loving my new mod. I have much better driveability and am paying less at the gas pumps for the added spirited driving pleasure. If it makes any difference, I have a Z Tube and a K&N filter, as well. I am dying to see what difference, if any, my soon to arrive HKS Hi-Power exhaust will make.

Well, since Tony's early release of MREV . . . I have found one new post where another person is expecting to receive the MREV. I am anxiously awaiting their experience(s) and comments of this new Motordyne mod. So far it's been a 100% thumbs up for MREV.
OK, I've been hearing Andy talk about his G now for the last two weeks and I just wanted to see if I could wipe the smile off of his face. Well I hooked up with Andy and drove his car tonight.
First thing I noticed was that his exhaust was a little louder and it had a different tone. The tone seemed to be a little lower in note. During the drive I notice that Andy's G pulled a little harder starting at about 3800 - 4000 rpm. I've driven Andy's G many times prior to the mod so I knew how it drove. driven with Andy many of times in the past and
I told Andy that the BUTT dyno could be misleading and that seeing is believing. So we decided to jump on to highway 280 for a couple of rolling hops. We communicated by cell phone and Andy allowed me to count down for the rolling starts.
From a rolling start @ 60MPH, caught Andy off guard on the first pass. On "Go" I jumped out and all he saw were my 04 Sedan 6MT tail lights and me laughing on the phone. Andy asked what gear I was in from the start and I said 4th. Andy was in 5th gear so I told him I would give him a chance to redeem himself and hold up the honor of the coupes. Andy confirmed that he was at WOT as was I.
Score one for the SEDANS.
On the second pass, Andy was ready and the cars were even up to about 70-75mph. Then from the corner of my eyes I saw Andy's car slowly inch forward. By the time I shifted into 5th gear Andy was about an 1/8 to 1/4 car length ahead. I made up for some of the lead when he shifted but he pulled ahead slowly again. At that point we shut it down for safety reasons.
Score one for the coupes.
The follow two runs after that had the same results. Andy's car did not kick my sedan butt nor did he run away. However, I was quite impressed how his coupe appeared to easily inch and pull away. I can only imagine if we had a closed road and a longer run what he could have really done.
The damn smile is still on his face, and I bought him to burger to shut him up.
Now my car is an 04 Sedan 6MT with only a K&N filter and Z tube. I would say that the two cars are evenly matched when stock and that it would be a drivers race. I consider myself as an equal to Andy when it comes to driving. Take it how ever you like, but with the Motordyne "MREV" mod the car seems to have an advantage. It's nothing like a turbo and it's not priced like one nor would you have to maintain it. For the money and time that Andy spent it seems like it was well worth it.
OK, so now I need to even out the playing field with Andy. I know he has an HKS exhaust coming in soon so I can only imagine that's just going to increase HP and torque.
I guess you don't have to take my word for it but to me seeing is believing. I saw how his car easily inched away and there was nothing I could do about it but watch and yell on the phone. Oh yeah, Andy I spit on your car as you were passing by.

LMAO . . . Al, you said you were going to make a few comments. Damn, that's a novel.
As I told my brother, I do not normally do this sort of stuff. However, it was just too tempting not to give him a run for his money. Hehehe . . . That's why I allowed him to call the starts.
As I had told Al, my new mod is no deep threat out on the roads. However, it just adds a lot of Zing to the already great driving experience of an already great all around ride.
Hehehe . . . Thanks for the burger, Al. I owe you one.
