mrev

I installed mrev tonight, a little over an hour, no big hurry. The intake sound alone is worth 200 bucs. Kinda like stillen intake but better, very unigue. I Just came from a 350hp wrx that was a major seat of the pants wow factor.
This new mod gave me just as good of a grin tonight on two differnt outings. This includes a couple of runs to 115, many onramps and stoplight take offs. First will easily break loose if you punch it. THE 0 TO 60 comes noticably quicker. Second just as good and was really impressed when i hit third at about 4.5k or 5k the car really pulled hard. I do not know about the best shift point that maximizes performance , but i did not feel the need to run it to redline to get what i wanted. After coming from a fast 60' car, its been hard to adjust. I do a lot of track days and am looking forward to seeing the difference. For 500 bucks I must say hands down fantastic bang for the buck. I think tony could offer money back garantee and never see one come back. Thank you Tony. Now is there a way to make the stock muffler louder. I have don many after market install and i give two thumbs up to Tony. Everything is very well labled, seperated in seperate bags and great instructions. Thanks again Tony

Express,

I can imagine the big grin on your face, as you tested MREV for the very first time.

Congrats to you on your new mod. For those of us, whom are looking for a simple mod, which delivers this kind of added drivability . . . It really doesn't get any better than this . . . Or does it, Tony?

i've been thinking of getting the ISO gasket upgrade. do you think it's worth it for 5AT 2003.5?

well, there is the ISO gasket - not the whole MREV mod. i want to know if there is data that the ISO gasket upgrade makes no/any difference on older and/or 5AT cars.

I think that anything that will assist in keeping the plenum temps down is good.

The ISO makes a big difference.
I have an '04 AT & ran with the spacer for several months B4 the ISO came out.

It was a very distict improvement.
I remember my 1st drive to work, got stuck at a RR crossing for 15min waiting for this mother of freight trains to crawl past.
The car should have been heat soaked to hell...
but when I pulled away, it took off like a bat out of he!!

inTgr8r, which kit, exactly, did you get? (URL please ). i need more easy power... i notice that in the morning, while the engine is cold, the car is a LOT more responsive. then after a few off-the-traffic-light accelerations, it tones itself down noticeably...

Get the ISO thermal spacer - you will NOT regret it.

Not sure where you are. Different climate than the one I experimented with. I would think that you could likely pass on the copper but it depends on the temps there.

Edit - double checked and since I am thinking you don't get much snow you would be fine withOUT the copper. Hope that helps some.

Igor, you can opt for the regular one with the Coolant Control Valve. It never gets that cold here.
