Motordyne vs Skunk2 plenum spacers
#31
dont n/a motors need a tune if you go with more than a 1/2inch spacer.. just heard that... seems right to me with all the breathing mods that it will need a little more fuel...
btw i just bought my skunk2 spacer.. should get it this week and i go to the track all the time. so i will see in 2 weeks if it helps in the 1/8th mile or not.. would say thats better than a dyno.. im hopin for .2 tenths of a sec. with this mod

^^No if anything at all you would need to do an ECU reset.
Side note I put in my MD 5/16 spacer today and did an ECU reset. I really don't feel any difference when I took it on the freeways or streets for the past 1.5 hours.
Although I do notice that my idle is lower and quieter for some reason.

You can drive from the blazing Mojave desert to a sub zero Alaskan blizzard and you don't need to make any adjustments.
Either way, your plenum will be cooler and your throttle body will still be heated like stock.

i also am very pleased with my results from my skunk2 plenum spacer the quality and fitment is great.. i was able 2 dyno both the skunk2 spacer and the motordyne 5/16 inch spacer.. the dyno was done on a SuperFlow WinDyno there were three pulls done on each and the best of three are shown on the dyno sheet.. i hope this helps
sorry i wasn't able to get a pull done with neither of them on for a base line but you get the point... oh and as for my other mods all i have is the pop charger Z-tube combo, and UTR pullys, stillen engine dampner, and a few suspension mods... the cars also got 80K miles

You did the comparative test on the Skunk2 dyno?
At the Skunk2 facility?
Performed by Skunk2 technicians?
LOL why won't they do the "independant" comparative dyno test they talked about here.

...Come on Skunk2!... Lets do that independant dyno shootout your were asking for.

Tony, now you should post dyno results on your dyno![Icon17](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/icon17.gif)
Manufacturer dyno claims are weak-sauce.
Independent dynos only please. No one on the forum ever takes manufactures numbers seriously.
Motordynes numbers have been posted in magazine articles by independent test methods (not advertising from manufactures dyno).

I went over to my350 and read the drama-filled thread there...I do wish we could get an independent dyno on both pieces. I learned from the thread that the non-revup VQ seems definitely to benefit from a spacer of almost any kind, so I'm going to take it on faith that my Skunk2 is giving me some gains. The price was right (swapping Sylvan Lake V35 some Amsoil products in exchange) and the install was quick and free by Karma and red35. 'Driver buds FTW.
