RADAR detector help!!

Yes you can get caught with ANY radar detector, all he has to do is sit over the hill with it off and then nail you when you top the hill. Happened to YoungTurk at the year before last Raging Bull Texas Stampede, 96 in a 55. He got out of it though, wonder of wonders.

I just got the 9500i and so far its nice. I got it for great deal, 240, but i didnt realize that the data from redlight camaras and speed camaras are preloaded. I thought only diff between 9500i and IX was that IX auto removed false alarms. I prev owned a Bel 950 and only got 2 tickets in 8 years owning it, and both times they were uncontrollable, doing less then 50. Good luck.

I've been happy with my escort x50, however if you really want to get NO tickets...I would look into a laser jammer. DOT recently gave the FHP some new laser guns that do not play around!!! Not all FHP's are using them @ the moment but they soon will and the valentine 1 or the escort will not protect you...as a matter of fact...they won't even go off.

V1 is the only radar LOCATOR (not just "detector") and it's upgradeable to keep up with latest in radar technology. As mentioned, the arrows tell you where signal is coming from (huge competitive advantage). Others try to say, "I can "hear" where signal is coming from," but when officers are staggered down the road, you won't know whether you just passed threat and/or one's just ahead. IMO, it's well worth the money and more importantly peace of mind. I recommend remote display module so you don't have people constantly riding you once they see you have a V1.
Laser tips. For laser radar, officer has to be stationary to shoot it. If your radar detector picks up laser (V1 can tell you it's laser), it's generally too late as laser has pinpoint beam so officer knows it's you speeding vice someone else. That's why you still have to drive smart. Be situationally aware. Don't be the lone wolf going 100+ mph, watch for prime radar sites (bridge overpasses/long straightaways) and watch for people braking ahead. Finally, I've heard the laser jammers are nonsense.

One doesn't need a high IQ or high tech device such as the V1 to figure out where a signal is coming from. It's quite simple, if the signal is low and repetitive, it is likely behind you and moving in the same direction. Conversely, if it is in front the signal will increase accordingly. Unless you drive through large open fields daily, I find this "huge competitive advantage" to be useless.
Does it really matter where a signal is coming from? If your radar goes off, slow down. If you need arrows to show you the way, pay more attention when driving.
