Weekend/Limited Mileage Insurance?
Hey do any of you guys know anything about having a limited mileage insurance policy? I'm about to get a DD, but still want to be able to drive the G, yet I'm pretty sure I won't be putting more than 3000 miles a year on it. It would be silly to have full coverage with such limited driving. Talked to my insurance rep and he came up with some numbers, but they were way higher than what I was quoted online and through my insurance it was a weekend only thing.
I've heard of pay as you go insurance, but not too sure about that either. Any thoughts?

I am actually set up this way. It also depends on what your DD will be. I have 95 integra that i use for my DD. It's only 1 way insruance since the car is worth nothing and I have full covergae on my G. Initially, my premium is ~900 for 6 months with only the G and ~700 for 6 months with both cars.

OP if you looking for cheaper insurance you might wanna look into a collectible status. Also your usage of a G might qualify you for getting a collectible plates........which cost allot less than your regular plates.
720 is what I pay for both of my cars (G and DD) set up as DD.

OIC... they are both DDs... but how do you drive them both daily... take one in the morning, one at night? or additional driver?

One is just sitting in my brothers back yard rusting away. And G is mostly driven by the wife.
I work from home.
The reason I have two cars on a policy cuz all my tickets are on the other cars policy (95 ford escort POS) this way my insurance for both cars is cheaper than single policy for a G alone.

Thats still cheap for me, my insurance for my G alone is more than that for 6 months. Then again my whole family is under one policy and they suck.
If you don't mind me asking what's your guys recent driving records look like? I've had 3 accidents none of which my fault that paid me a little over 2000 each time (1 within this year), and 3 tickets within the last 3 years, no points.
Currently is my deductible is 150, full cover, 6mon/890. I was quoted 6mon/1160 if i get a 93 MR2 Turbo beater. Full coverage on the G, one way on the MR2. This is if I leave my family's policy, if i stay its alot alot more. lol. State Farm btw.
EDIT: oh this is for only driving the G on weekends Friday 12:00AM till Sunday 11:59PM and 3000mi cap/year. Weird? Progressive is alot cheaper tooo, but I'm not sure about how hard it is to make claims and stuff.
