3rd annual NFL vs. SWAT Softball Showdown

Tickets are on sale! Adults $10 – all reserved seating, kids 2 and under are free. They can be purchased at the box office at Roger Dean Stadium or online with Ticketmaster.com.

Proceeds from the game will benefit the not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Heath Evans Foundation, which is dedicated to fostering hope and healing in the lives of children and families affected by sexual abuse. Started in 2006 to help children who have been sexually abused, it’s something Evans learned about firsthand because his wife was a victim of sexual abuse as a child. One in four girls and one in six boys is sexually abused before the age of 18 in Palm Beach County, according to Evans. More than 75 percent of victims are abused by a family member or someone they know. The foundation provides access to a variety of programs, treatments and services in communities with great need and scarce resources. NFL players who have participated include Randy Moss, Vince Wilfork, Devin Hester, Jonathan Vilma, Pierre Thomas, Channing Crowder, David Thomas, David Clowney, Abe Elam, BenJarvis Green-Ellis, Anthony Fasano, Quentin Groves and Adalius Thomas as well as former player/broadcaster Rodney Harrison. Marlins pitcher Chris Volstad and former Marlin Dan Uggla have also participated and usually a few baseball players stop by.
