Picked up this Alpine type R cheap so swapped out the older Type S
Also my 3rd brake on the wing was completely opaque, cracked in the middle and the lights never lit up as long as I owned the car. It appears to be double sided taped onto the wing (not sure if this is oem) but it was so brittle it would fall to pieces if I attempted to completely remove it. Not sure if the wing has to come off to replace it too - that would be a job. If it's as easy as removing the plastic, old tape, wiring and simply pluging a new one in and double side taping it in, I may replace soon in the future. But for now I superglued the broken part, sanded and painted black.
When you eventually replace your brake light, here's a good website to pick them up. https://www.spoilerlights.com/sl-cat...g35/2003-2008/
My G had a broken third brake light when I picked it up and for some reason they weren't easy to find. I spent a few weeks trying to find one before I finally found the website. Hope it helps.
Need to do a full rear suspension bushing swap. The front winter tires also wore out very very quickly once they got past the 6/32 wear limit so ordered a new all season set for the fronts. I'm down to the bands LOL!
I'm wondering if the Diff bushing swap will be worth it. I mean, I'll have the whole rear end popped up after all! It's like $20 but a load of time.

Do it now while everything is apart. Maybe even toss a Nismo or Z1 diff cover on there also.
Put on a set of Volk GT-Ms today. 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rears. Got a really great deal on them. The gunmetal finish matches my car so well. Then gave her a really good bath
so i completely integrated additional buttons for my nexus 7 while still being able to use the controls for the oem controller. so i added buttons next to the stock buttons and then i plastic welded little additional tabs onto the buttons so when clicked they actually click both buttons. in the nexus 7, using tasker, it determines if im in the oem nav screen and if i am the secondary buttons do nothing. other wise map will take you to waze, info will go to dashcommand gauges, holding cancel down for 1 sec will go home etc.
i will get a vid up later. i am using the joycon exr to control the buttons and i was able to actually fit the joycon into the oem nav button controller. the hardest part of all of this was getting the buttons to actually click both buttons and actually all fit and close together properly with all the additional wires.
Awesome job, btw! I'm terribly envious because I'm sure your car is going to feel better than new once you have all of those bushings installed!
I did the front recently, and it made it much different. Much like the newer cars I drove from Infiniti. I've never drove a "new" G35 coupe so I didn't know any better.
The diff bushings were blown to smithereens, so the drivability is going to be completely different. I'm excited. I'll post back when it's all done.
Had an issue with the 9500ci rear shifter blocking the light for the license plate frame. here you can see how much it extends out and blocks the light for the license plate frame
here is my solution for it. i actually notched my license plate frame and then took the u-clips for the screws that hold it to the bumper and took a spacer and plastic welded it on and then plastic welded a thin piece because the metal bracket was not thick enough for the clip to hold securely to
