Black '06 coupe, 6MT, PP, RAS, Aero, 111k miles. 3 owner mile long Carfax of oil changes and service records at various Infiniti dealerships, someone added the following:
-Kenwood DVD/Nav head unit
-Strut tower brace
-Clear bra
-Drilled/Slotted rotors
-Wheel spacers on stock rims/rubber, looks like +25/+15.
-Possibly lowered springs, wheel well clearance is pretty tight, can barely get my hand between the wheel well and tire but zero rubbing or issues yesterday while driving on a bumpy mountain pass.
The following needs to be fixed:
-Plastic cover for the side of the driver seat (seatbelt cover?)
-Couple of speakers are shot, you only hear it at high volume
-Little squealing sound from a belt-driven something in the engine bay but only after engine is warm and running for a half hour, only makes noise at idle and I suspect it's the water pump but haven't taken off the belt to spin everything by hand to verify.
-Very slight body damage on the driver side rear pillar, only seen at just the right angle.
-Aftermarket stereo head unit is not Bluetooth and no one added a SWCI so the steering wheel left-side buttons do nothing.
Overall it's really clean and felt great to drive, all gears/clutch work fine, 2nd gear is just ever so slightly hard to push in while downshifting but it's probably normal.
Fixed the engine drive belt squeeking yesterday so now it's super quiet at idle, when I was under the vehicle I noticed there is significantly more inside tire wear so I need to put a camber kit on it, rear looked ok so I'll probably just leave that end be for now.
I'll check into it thanks, no idea what brand was used to lower the suspension or how much drop but my guess is 1_1/4 inch. I was planning on getting an alignment job done first anyways so I'd know if a rear kit was needed.
Yep for the first 10 minutes you drive it after cleaning lolololol. Looks great no doubt.
Truer words have never been spoken. OP, your car looks great! If you use a detail mist after wash it, you can get 30 minutes of being clean before it turns into a dust magnet
Welcome to the G35 Driver Forums! Very nice looking OB '06 coupe, "Congratulations!" You don't need to put up with dust, by using a California duster available at PepBoys it's no longer an issue. Never use the duster if your coupe is filthy or when it's hot! Are you able to keep your coupe in a garage? That's the key to keeping it looking good with little effort!
Again, Welcome and enjoy the ride...Gary
