So today the unthinkable happened, I was rushing to a family emergency I forgot I unlatched the hood to work on the car earlier. I Speed off and make to the highway and of course the hood flies up and smacks the windshield. Sigh. Hood hinges are destroyed, both fenders are bent at the top. The hood? 😯. A few spider cracks and one nice long crack which exposed the weave. So I'm super upset and super grateful. If it was my stock hood it's possible that my windshield would have shattered and even more grateful that I didn't get hurt or anyone else because I had to slam on the brakes.
So I called my insurance company and they said they will cover it minus my deductible. Which is awesome but I'm concerned my hood won't be repaired correctly.
My question to you guys is, should I just take the check and live with the damage? I can toss a matte black sticker over the crack and be happy honestly. I can install new fenders and hood hinges myself so that just leaves the paint aspect. Thoughts?
Honestly I prefer my vehicle to have some small battle scars, nothing major and nothing broken but a few gouges in the paint, smaller dents/scuffs/etc I leave as a reminder of the battles my warhorse has been in.

Tuesday, i spent all day scrubbing a ton of caked on brake dust on my rear driver side tire, looks much better but i think i scratched up the clear coat in some areas. Yesterday i changed my oil with synthetic and filter, changed out brake pads with performance ceramic, and cleaned and painted the front calipers black. I've had my 04 5at sedan for about 5 years now and just started taking care of it. The paint is in good condition, and i love the Caribbean blue. My next project is a Stillen intake and 5/16th plenum spacer, and a momo automatica shifter. I'm excited i finally have some play money with this new job!
Got tired of swapping tires out because of my current suspension setup needing adjustable arms. I went down to my buddies at Z1 Motorsports and went big! Adjustable front and rear arms along with BC Coilovers. After getting home remembered that I forgot to buy some Hawk HPS pads so got them online from them and shipped. It's going to be a super exciting weekend next week!

I've never had clear coat on my tires, what a concept.
It is nice to have extra money for modding, just be careful you don't go crazy like some of us on here lolol.
