So much for utilizing a super car.

BTW I was very happy with the new Z's performance on the track. Even stock it was fully stable (both dynamic and static). There was no gross understeer like there was with the stock G. And it put up with my minor over corrections without sending me into snap oversteer.
It was easy and fun to drive.
I'm ready for more!!!

BTW: I did get lots of good track data. Now I'll need some time to get it all analized. A quick review shows the average track RPM @ 90+% throttle was ~5640 RPM.
There is a ton of other data that will make for some interesting trivia to the general VQ public, but a lot of it will also make for some good engineering data to design from.

We rolled back into town late last night. That was a hell of a weekend. Heh!
True to most track events, the track day shinanigan actually started the night before leaving town, while prepping the cars. Ugh! Details to follow later or Drew could chime in.
It was soo good to see soooooo many Gs and Zs at the track. I also got to finally meet the VRT crew. Jesuz! All of their cars made mine looked bone stock. I need more tires and power!?!?
This was my very first taste at the Spring Mountain track and the layout is indeed very technical, which meant I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
This may have even topped one of my all time favorite - Buttonwillow. It is darn shame it is all the way out in the city of Pahrump. I was able to establish a good rhythm after 3 laps around the course. The rest of the day went to refinement and experimentation of different racing lines, as the lap times continue to drop. I'm still kicking myself silly for forgetting to bring my front camber adjustment accessories, the source of my heavy understeer. I also need larger tires. 225f/245r is really not cutting it anymore.
All in all, I was pretty content w. the lap times.
Damn the supercars that won't let me pass, despite practically practically touching their rear bumper w. my nose. The Cobra guy was the worse of them all. Nice cars, shady drivers.
I also got to assess Dru and Alex's coupes on the track. Dru's car was solid!!! Aside from his shotty tranny fluid (wtf were you doing to it bro?), I had such a blast tossing that thing around the course. I've said this many times in the past ... among street compounds, Bridgestone S03 rocks on the track. I wouldn't change a thing Dru, that baby is SET!
Alex's ride was nice too, but exhibited a bit too much understeer than I'd have preferred. Making and easy sway bar adjustments could have gone a long way (next time). I did noticed the '05 VQ was silky smooth compare to the '03-'04. At the end of the day, I was a couple of tenths faster in Alex's (than Dru's), to which I blame Dru's tranny fluid issue.
Gurgen's TT sedan was another story. Power! That baby just wants to Goooooooo! I didn't get to hustle it for fear of being responsible of a comprehensive engine failure (aftermarket turbos always make me nervous). His 285 BFG KDW2 were also not able to cope with the demand. Not the highest performing tires around. The other criticism being that of the slushbox + turbo combo, an extremely unnature and cumbersome combination for tracking. Once the 6mt transformation is done ... beware of the beast with in!
I was really hoping I can also take Avo's SC coupe out for a spin, but ran out time. Next time for sure buddy. I bet I could have done some real damage w. that thing. If one must go FI at the track, I generally prefer superchargers over turbochargers.
Jay (AP2Suzuka),
Dude you bailed early. WTF?
Nice gett'n trashed w. ya! Long live Long Island!
Paul (RhinoS2K),
Someone had to take your poor azz in. Just glad you didn't snore as badly as Jeff.
Also glad you didn't mind being the only 'cylinder challenged' person in the room. Good times and good job at hitting 3:30.x I'm proud of ya man. The Rhino is on!
Mike (Back-Breaker ... I mean cracker),
Thank for the drinks and don't say I wasn't there for you when you had to go hurl. F u for not letting me stay at the pimp suite! And F u again for rolling craps @ Wynn! Still luv ya foo!
Mike (IPon6mt),
Very glad you finally came out. Sorry to leave you hanging solo rolling out w. the S2k boys on the way there. We were still banging out the cars for tracks. The S dudes are a bunch of fine people, so you were in good acompany. I guess I'll be seeing you at the next one huh!
VRT,
Nice meeting Mike (VRT), another Mike, Scott, Ty, Ed (eagle1) now with VRT, and many more of yall. Hope to see you all again at the next one. We're looking to do California Speedway (ROVAL) this July 21.
Team Transport dudes,
Thanks for coming. How come yall bailed early too? WTF? :P Don't be so shy next time. hehe.

Dude the walk back to Caesar's was hilarious. That taxi driver doing a burnout in his van! Clint running back wards into the road sign. Too much. In case anyone was wondering, I did Mapquest on our route:
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...1ffi=&1ex=&1n=
Not sure if that is the route, but it looks correct 2.64 miles? WFT??

I should have let Clint take it out for a spin, but thought of it too late.
As for the wheels + tires, I thought they were great. Everyone was joking that I would not have any tire left to drive home on, but there is tons of tire left. I asked a guy in a Elise (Roger) how long they would last, an he thought about 10 track days. Kinda high maybe but I felt better about spending the money on the RA-1's. Front brakes (Carbotech on OEM rotor) worked fine, no problems whatsoever with the brakes. I checked my brake fluid and it was OK. Very fun day. Sorry you missed it, maybe now with all the interest, we can go more often!!!!
Alex, you were my only ride along, and I thought you did very well. Your suspension felt great unlike my 'Chinese Junk' feeling I kept getting. Keep it up vato!! Just remember the 'I...oh!?' line and you will always be happy.
Clint, 3:13 to my 3:48? Thats 35 seconds faster than me. I guess you must be THE MAN!!! As long as I improve each time I will be happy. Maybe I should go to a driving school, but I think that they are hella expensive. Thanks for letting me crash ur pad!! I would go back to Spring Mountain anytime...
Good times were had by all. Like Clint said, next time lets vote on one place way in advance, and all stay together...
