Carmax is/was a joke. Ebay seems like a PITA and I would lose my **** if I trade.

So I'm looking at cars.com, autotrader, etc.... just looking for some other suggestions.

Thanks!

What kind of car? Ebay is a sure fire way to sell your car within one week. I've had good success there. Craigslist hasn't been bad for me either but I got a lot of flaky buyers, but I did sell two cars through Craigslist.

I'm trying to sell my 2005 G35 sedan... seems all the prices I see on the used market is around $24k for something similar to mine.

Most dealerships offer me about $18k/$19k for trade in. I just laugh and walk away. Selling it outright will be my best bet. It just turned 30k miles and looks as good as the day I bought it. So it's not like anything is wrong with it. The dealership just wants to make $$$$ off of me... which I understand but am not willing to do.

What about using the classifieds on this website? Is it worth while?

I've tried Ebay in the past (2 other cars) and had nothing but problems. I would never use CL either simply for the fact that it's nothing but a buch of losers who never actually do what they say they're going to do.

NickS, my experience has been that selling cars on online forums is very difficult. The audience who will see it is so small, majority of viewers already have the same vehicle, and it's not very regional.

I just bought my car from craigslist. I wouldnt think you would have any problems with cars or autotrader though.

So when you go to sell your car, and a potential buyer wants to "test drive" the car, do you go along with them to make sure they are just trying to joyride in your car or do you try to "feel" out the potential buyer?

I would ride with them. Not only the issue you stated, but there are insurance issues also

I've done good selling car on Autotrader. I've sold four cars that way usally at the price I wanted but it took 3-6 months. I find Autotrader browsers are more serious about buying since they paid for the mag.

I always do their run until sold deal ... if they still do that, its been 3yrs since I used them come to think of it.
