Highest point is anywhere north of I-10. Houston is too damn flat to have any high points. 20ft in elevation is all that separates I-10 from the gulf.

I don't think this one will be as bad as Katrina, but the only reason why Katrina was so bad was because NO is below sea level and the water has no where to go. That and the busted levees.

I do remember back in 2001 when just a tropical strom hit us and the entire city flooded.

Yea I remember that tropical storm, They are just preparing because of Katrina. It might be a category 3 or 4. But Houston shouldnt be that bad, Galveston I heard is starting evacuations. I guess we will just have to wait and see on sat morning. We should find out for sure on wednesday or thursday.

That was because TS Alison did not move out of Houston - it basically sat on top of the city and rained non-stop.

Yeah, that storm was a trip. I got to watch it unfold from NC, and lucky for me my car was in the continental parking garage at IAH.

Can't wait to see it.

All I know now is that I have to go into work tomorrow - from there, I don't know what is going on. I very well may be heading towards the DFW area.

Catagory 4 now, will be a catagory 5 by landfall. It is already stronger sooner than Katrina was.

Anything on the main path and right side of the storm is going to get the worst damge. So Corpus, San Antonio, Houston, Galveston, brace yourselves. Houston is going to probably get the worst of it.
