as for now - i'm staying.

i'm in the galleria area, so i'm in the same boat as you - not worried about flooding, but the winds and no power, etc... are my concerns.

I live in First Colony (Heritage Colony @ Austin Parkway and Hwy 6)and there was no flooding during Tropical Storm Allison a few years ago and we had something like 15-16" of rain, the flood control is very good. the real problem will be the high winds and until it hits there is no way to know how high or damaging they may (or may not) be. I am staying and riding it out. Robb is correct, if you watch the news all the freeways out are at a near standstill

max

ps....do you have 350GT on your trunk in place of the G35?

I'm with max - i'll be hanging in town.

Plus the drives out of town are taking way too long, and at that rate I'd be on the freeway when the storm made landfall. LOL

Good luck and be safe to everyone in Texas.
We had a low category 3 (Hurricane Juan)in my city a couple of years ago and even that shut down our city for 3-4 days and did significant damage. My house power was out for 5 days.
Take care of yourself, your family (and your G if you can).

I just heard on the news that this hurricane is the 3rd strongest storm in Atlantic history at this moment. Please keep aware of things if you are in the path and get out of there if you can.

I had no idea it was _this_ bad... It sure is gaining more and more strength awful quickly.

Tropical Storm Allison I don't remember that. Oh, wait. I think that thing caused me to total my '97 Ford Taurus V8 SHO. Well, thats what State Farm, Friends, Family and work said about that lil fender bender I had.

I will remain here in Houston when this one comes in.
