Dobie HS Car Show- April 22 -whos down
Ok guys, we're going to do this at the school, and I really need to call upon you to help support it. (for those of you who don't know, I'm an art teacher at the high school)
This is for Gaby DeLaCruz, he's the 13 year old son of one of our teachers. He has a condition called Chari Malformation, which results in the uncontrolled swelling of the brain stem and spinal chord. None of the doctors in Houston could get it under control, so they went to a specialist in Chicago and obviously, as a result of all that has been going on, they have numerous bills to take care of. Ms. DeLaCruz is a teacher at Dobie, and she is a single mother. Because she's been taking care of Gaby, she's been unable to work, and therefore there is no income to support their family. We are doing this and 100% of money raised will go to the family to help ease the financial burden.
I'll have a flier out shortly, but wanted to get the basics out so you can plan to attend.
Date: Saturday, April 22
Time: Show starts at 12:00, Registration starts at 10:30
Location: Dobie High School: very close to the BW8/I-45 intersection on the south side of Houston.
We're going do have it be "Gaby's Choice" and let him pick the winners of the classes. There will also be an art raffle, presenting artwork from students and teachers; a bake sale, and some other activities. Again, 100% of money raised goes to the family to help cover bills.
Thanks!!!
