Hi everyone. My husband and I are looking to move to Atlanta. We would like a suburban neighborhood with 1 to 10 year old homes. Can anyone give me some suggestions to nice neighborhoods up there? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Everyone will tell you to go to the north side of Atlanta where all the growth is and many, many restaurants. However, in Peachtree City on the south side, you will find a slower pace and some very nice amenities. We have over 80 miles of golf cart paths. You can go to the grocery store, shopping, friends houses, neighborhood functions, and just putt around all over Peachtree City. It is convenient to I-85 which takes you into Atlanta. Just my .02! Check it out....

How far is that from the Metropolitan Atlanta area or where the downtown business area is?

Ive been in Atlanta since 97. If you are going to be working downtown or midtown, the best place in close proximity is probably the Vinings / Smyrna area. A lot depends on how much you want to spend though.

Yeah, You can spend a great deal just to live in the ghetto.
I live in a neighborhood that was built in the 50's inside the perimeter---Multicultural, but with 1/3 acre lots.traffic time to midtown at 8 a.m. in the morning is around 15-20 minutes---unless someone spills some water on the street and people then decide it is a road hazard and cause multiple accidents. Houses in this hood are priced between 160-190K.
Not too bad. The closer in you get the more expensive it becomes.

Hi, If your wanting to move to Atlanta, then you should think about moving to Gwinnett County. It's about 20-35mins outside of Atlanta(depending on how fast you drive) Gwinnett is a great place to live.

Ggirl:
I lived in Atlanta for 3 years but currently live in Orlando. When I lived in N.E Atlanta (inside the Perimeter) it was very congested. If I remember correctly, morning rush hour is more intense if you are traveling from the north side of Atlanta in to downtown compared to living in South Atlanta and traveling north. I would have to agree with the previous post regarding Peachtree City. I would recommend checking it out when searching for a home.
2004 Coupe/DG/5AT on order...Is it January 21 yet?

Miami sucks! Too many people. Really hot, I'm used to that already. What a little rain?
