Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
We need to first find out what we want to do.
a) family fun day
b) meet drive then nightlife
There is no way er are going to have a family fun day and take your kids to pleasure island or south beach.
Next we need to be realistic here. This is a florida meet, so Miami is going to be a minority here. You have to consider that we have people from Tampa, Jax, Orlando, and then you have Miami/Ft Laud. The Tampa/Jax crew are going to have to drive 2 hrs no matter what. Lets not make them drive 5 hrs to south beach when they constitute a good majority of G35s. I think a place like Melbourne(if there was something to actually do there) or Vero Beach would be reasonable or maybe sebring or lake wales. Those are all pretty much center for everyone. Then someone start throwing out dates.
You guys are on your 12th post and have nothing accomplished but bickering. And for G35abadiguard, are your friends on this site, because I know how just saying people will come, works. Excuse my sassiness, but I am exhausted and come to this site for relief and a few laughs I didn't get any this morning.

I agree with you there Josh. Family bbq or party. If it's family bbq I vote Melbourne. Party time I say we get with the Pleasure Island people and get some spaces reserved.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
I mentioned a Pleasure Island cruise because it is near the highest density of hotels and hotspots. The theme parks area is also a good place since most major highways converge on or near that area including the turnpike, 441, I-4 etc. The Pleasure Island area also has more than just night clubs, it's next to downtown disney which has something for everyone including shops, restaurants, movie theaters etc.
PimpinPearl,
I didn't get the feeling anybody was bickering, maybe some flame bait like the "disney G club" dig but I didn't take it personally, as I don't think it was meant that way.
Organizing anything through forum posts is generally a slow process especially when the who, what and where have to be worked out.
My vote is for a beach area lunch followed by a cruise to the downtown disney area for dinner and drinks, but I'm open for just about anything.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
For what it's worth, Melborne or Orlando is fine with me. I vote for the family day (the wife is digging it) and that's totally surprising to me. I'd really push for this as opposed to a "ride" or group drive. We've done that many times, the family day would really be something new. Also, the Tampa people could get together and head over and back in a "group drive". I'm sure the Orlando families would do the same thing, so if you plan a picinic, with some beer (reads a lot of beer) and maybe a soccerball and football I think we could have quite a fun day.
I would really like to get my wife involved in this G35 group. Every Friday night I go out to Bennegins w/o her (I have brought the kids once though). For dyno days, Z-Fest, local meets, track days, etc... she is not included. If I could make her feel involved, I might be able to do more things in the future. Anyone else with a family agree?
As a FYI, there is Demonteverde, PimpinPearl, PlatG, DED, Dabomb, Neffster, MarcG (or MGinter) in the Orlando area. There are more than that, but those are the hard core group of guys that get together ALL OF THE TIME. That's 7 people (where Miami has reported 4 strong) so I definitely vote Orlando or Melborne. (I will not drive my family 4 hours one way for a meet and not take the Sequoia, sorry. Also, my 1 and 3 year old will not like South Beach any more than they would Melborne).
300bhp??? We'll see... 5-22-2004

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
Even though I am one of the bastard G35 children here in Orlando...
Here is my $0.02 on the matter...
For the married guys, involving the wife is a great idea. I took my wife to Hot Import Nights last night (Josh, system looks awesome, btw...love the Infiniti emblem) and it really helps her to understand the idea of car modding. I went from a simple stereo system in the works to her saying..." you really need to go with the fiberglass". "I think you should have no problem fitting 2 W6's in the trunk". "Do you really need a spare tire anyway? We do have AAA you know?"
These are good responses for those of us who have wives. For the single guys, I know kids and wives can sometimes be a bit tense... but think of this as a one time a year (or so) thing to improve the numbers during the "guys night" stuff.
Besides being from Orlando, I drive a ton around all of Florida. Making frequent trips to Tampa (sister and G35 brother-in-law, Lightning hockey), north of Tampa (New Port Richey, where we are from, parents etc), Jacksonville (best friends live there, we lived there for 6 years, where my company is based) etc... Orlando really is the only common sense place. Melbourne is wonderful, but a pain in the a$$ for the Tampa people.
A few options if we want to spend money...
Both Gatorland and Seaworld have pavilions that can be rented. This will only make sense if we get enough people to lower the per person cost. One bonus is the wives and kids will have a great time going through the park.
For public parks check out this site:
http://www.cityoforlando.net/public_...arks/index.htm
That will at least give us an idea.
I will help out where I can if you need something scouted out, and I will call Seaworld and Gatorland on Monday when their events planners are there.
Does anyone know where the other car clubs have their meetings???
I just know we could rent the floor in the Ice Palace for about $4000, which is only $40 a car if we get a hundred cars, etc. Obviously we aren't quite there yet... but I think we can find a good option if we want to make this thing big.
So, what do you all think?

Everyone who is interested and can follow through with this meet, please state location, G body type and age. This will give each and every one of us an idea of who's really in. (I know most of you prolly already know each other, but I am new to the forum and would like to join some kind of local G car club and meet other G drivers.) I'll start:

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
I guess an important question we need to ask ourselves is:
Just how serious are we about planning an annual event?
If we are serious, it takes commitment but we will probably have a better turn out. We may also get sponsership support.
A few sponser that might potentially get involved are:
Infiniti
Nissan
Pepsi
Coke
Titan Motorsports
Racing Zone
Ultimate Audio
Volk
Vortech
GReddy
etc, etc, etc.
This would make for a much more serious event, but will totally take away from the small "Meet and Greet" event with family and kids in a park atmosphere.

annual event im all for it. i think it should def be in orlando or melbourne, most central locations.
having it at a park would be best for family day. gettin the family involved is very key. just like orljmh said "the wife now thinks we should get a fiberglass system." i think family day would be fun for everyone. i think the melborne and orlando people should scout out the parks find a good one, takes some pics, and then we can decide which one we think will work best.
gettin a sponsor would be awesome.
add name to appropriate group and change total. that way we can get a better feel for where everyone is coming from better than if they are all mixed together.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
OK guys...i started this and therefore im gonna throw out the tentative plan. I am probably the most flexible person as far as gettin to this so a common vote to change date or location can definatly be done.
I figure we need at least 1month for familes to set plans and what not so end of june, early july is time frame...July 4th area is probably bad for most so...
