Put me in the list for orlando. i think i will be able to come, not 100% sure yet. also since im going to be new to the area could we all drive down together?

 

What about Ginne Springs in Gainesville? It is somewhat central for our northern western and central G folks. They have pavilions, springs to swim in, river to float on, (YOU CAN RENT TUBES). It's an hour from Orlando, 2 hours from Tampa and Jacksonville.

GInnie Springs is a greatplace, but I think lets not make everyone drive 2 hrs. Wekiva springs is a great place, my uncle lives walking distance from there and I go there at least once a month. Even that is a good 30min drive for me. So Orlando looks good to me and is logical.

I live in The Springs in Longwood which has a private spring and grill area. It's a gated community. I could set it up. Plenty of parking. It is located about a 1/2 mile west of the intersection of I-4 and 434. What do you guys think?

 

sounds fine by me. but what do you define plenty of parking as? and is there anyway to reserve it that way no one else can get there before us and claim it?

For the record, that last post was under the assumption that the Pavilions at Wickham Park were all ready reserved.

Plenty of parking. I need about a three weeks notice to reserve the airconditioned pavilion. We can always use this as a backup.

 

Sorry but it has room for 50-60 cars.

 

OK just called Wickham park...they have 4 pavilions avialable (for rent) on the 26th which are for up to 56 people
He explained them as a big canapi with picnic tables near the lake.
They are $53 plus tax per day plus a security deposit which u get returned 2days after the event. for 30ppl he qouted the deposit as $75.00
As far as parking he said there is probably 100 or so spots located right there.

I dont car where we go and Im tryin to set this up with no knowledge of any of these parks. I know a couple where mentioned by Neff that had positive feedback. Again we are finalized on the day so plans can be made but lets try to finalize a location in the next few days.
The 4 miami people that spoke up at the beginning of this thread have to work on Saturdays and no others have mentioned interest, so Orlando will be ok if we can find a free place for us.

NikNala...ur place sounds good...give a more detailed description (how big is the building? how much space is available outside? Is it free? ...etc.) and if we get a concincious then u can book it.

I wish! I'm flying in from Hawaii at 2pm. There's no way we are going to get in the G and drive for 2 1/2 hours. This sucks. I'll keep checking the thread just in case the date changes.

No doubt...especially if it moves to Orlando...im sure i can talk a few guys into hitting up Pleasure Island but i dont know where ur coming from and that may be too long of a drive for a half day.
