Blue Fog Lights got me pulled over
So I replaced my fog lights and parking lights with some blue LEDs. Had these for several months with plenty of night driving, no problems.
Until tonight when the local university campus police stops me and informs me it's illegal to have any kind of blue or red lighting on the exterior of my car as it would be considered impersonating law enforcement or emergency personnel.
Now I'm fairly sure this is BS since in doing my research its only illegal if the lights are flashing, OR if I had red, white and blue in combo on my car.
Anyways he didn't ticket me, so I'm not sure what to think. I've passed dozens of city police officers at night, and not one has flashed me or stopped me.
Also I happened to be going over speed bumps behind the campus cop and he said it looked like I was flashing him (I wasn't). So maybe that's what made him stop me?
I'm in Tennessee just to clarify for state specific driving laws. Anyone else have a similar situation?

Blue lights are never OK.
Exterior or even interior if they can be seen from outside.
You WILL get pulled over for this and could be in a lot of trouble if the officer wanted to push it.
Sounds like you got a slap on the wrist and should probably be thankful for that.
But honestly, blue fog lights don't look good anyway.
They're also blinding to oncoming traffic.
And blue is actually the least effective color of light for driving in fog or rain.
Yellow is actually the best color for fog. I know some people think that yellow fog lights are just a JDM fad or are just for looks, but I can tell you from personal experience that my current 3000k foglights help with visibility WAY more than the 8000k foglights I had on one of my previous cars (yes, I went through the ricey blue foglight stage as well)
Also, they don't draw any attention from cops (now my window tint on the other hand... )
