Smile 7,500 Mile Service @ Tustin

some say that it cost them about 300+ for the 7500 Mile Service at the dealership. I was surprised that i was only $129.00 at Tustin Infiniti when i asked for a quote. I was planning to take my car to one of those auto shops instead of the dealership if they were going to quote me around 3-5 bills. But yeah, just thought i'd like to share that. Hopefully it won't be that expansive when it comes to the 15,000 mile service. Any idea how much that would cost?

I posted this info on the SoCal forum a couple of weeks ago, but basically this is what I wrote:

Cerritos Infiniti:
3,500 miles intervals - $39.50
15k mile maintainence - $199.95

Performance Nissan (Duarte):
3,500 miles intervals - $29.50
15k mile service - $179.00
30k mile service - $299.00

A friend of mine, ASE certified mechanic, advised that the 7,500 mile service is a joke and I should just get a basic oil change. That was for my honda but since I'm dealing with Infiniti, so I decided just to go in and let them do a 7,500. Service mgr told me the major differences in 3,500 vs 7,500 sevices is the tire rotation. Since the tires on the sports tuned suspension pkg can't be rotated, he advised me to go with the 3,500 service.

For the 15k service, you'll notice a lot is basically inspections. Same thing there...your car should be good to go. No need for useless inspections. I did the normal oil change from Performance Nissan in Duarte for $21 w/coupon and changed the engine and in-cabin filters myself. Total cost for 15k = $91.

My 7500 service was only an oil & filter change here in ABQ.

Mine only cost $30 (Oil Change). every thing on the 7500 service are just checking stuff and it's useless.

Don't do it.... just get an oil change, and rotate the tires yourself.
Ka-ching ! Nothing else really needs doing at 7.5k.

I have also been happy w/ Tustin Inifiniti -- I had my pads changed at the end of last year and knew my rotors were going to need to be replaced (I have a 2003 sedan ) so I waited until the last minute before my 3 yr, 30k warranty and they replaced my front rotors & pads for free/ no problem.

I guess I expected some sort of a hassle or attempt to squirm out and get some money, but they did exactly as they were supposed to without any hassle at all. I think that's worth mentioning.

awesome. Thanks all of you for your input. I did check the manual and yup, most of the things they were doing is inspect this and that and tire rotation. So Oil change it is. saves me +$100. Sweet.

When i first called in the morning, i spoke to the service department in getting a 7500 mile service and he quoted me $129.00. After carefully reading your replies, i called them to request to change my appointment to just an oil change instead of the 7500 mile service and the representative said "yeah, that's what it is anyways, just an oil change. for $41.00." damn..almost got ripped.

^ Good to hear. Some dealers like BMW, are strictly out there to make the money.

I went to Performance last week to do my oil change, and wanted to ask them about the 15K service in about 3 months, sorta like a heads up for me...

I asked the guy to break it down for me, and which he did. Turns out I only need a damn oil change lol

They only inspect everything, rotate my tires (which I dont need), do the oil change.. and uummm something with the battery posts (which i can do myself)..

the guy tried to tell me, they would balance the rims/tires, but I told him I got them for free where I bought the wheels...

Im glad I asked!! saved myself over $100
