what is the most you are willing to pay for a multi day road rally?

SURVEY-

The recent popularity of multi-day road rallies such as the Gumball3000, Bullrun, and Cannonball Run has made me wanting to enter one of them. From what I’ve seen and read in magazines and from what I’ve heard from friends who have gone it’s the most crazy, exciting, and over-the-top experience every car enthusiasts must participate in. I would like to live like a Rockstar, party at exclusive clubs, stay at luxurious hotels every night, drive crazy on the open highways, and hookup with hot chicks every night for an entire week. However, the $60K (Gumball3000), $16K (Bullrun), and $10K (Cannonball Run) entry fees (for a team of 2 people) are cost prohibitive for me (and for most of us regular Joes) to participate in such events.

Considering your current financial situation, what is the most you are willing and able to pay to participate in such events and experience the Rockstar/Baller lifestyle?

I could see paying $5k for something like that. Maybe more depending on what I got to drive.

Guys. I've been to one of the Bullrun parties last year in Vegas. If I can afford $15K I would totally run it. Open bar at the party and there were more scantily-clad hot chicks at the party than guys. Hahaha. Hooking up was like shooting fish in a barrel. Seriously.

I talked to one of the rally participants and he said that the fee he paid included all luxury hotel accomodations, VIP Parties, drinks at the parties, lunches, chicks (? it seemed like it, hahaha), goody bags, etc. Over the Top entertainment and lifestyle is an understatement to describe the experience, and I only tagged along to one of the parties. If someone wants to split the $15K next year let me know. If there was something comparable out there at $5K I would sign up in a heartbeat. Ed you wanna go?

in my positon now id have to say 10k thats about what i spent on my most expensive vacation ever.... which was a couple years ago. granted that was two weeks... at those races do the drivers have to worry about speeding tickets? or is that some how "Looked over" if there isnt a risk of getting arrested id say $10k no problem. anything more than that... im just not in the positon to justify the money. Im not in a position to justify $10k but id do it anyway. Thats prolly what you would spend on a trip to germany and renting a car and fuel on the auto bahn would prolly be the same rate. Id say for a middle class enthusiast $10k is understandable.... if you dont have a family and kids.... when i get the supercharger installed on my car... might have ahcance haha... i am a crazy ****..

From what I heard you are on your own if you get a ticket, an accident, or arrested since you are on public roads. I guess the promoters make you sign a waiver to participate in the rally. Most of them just go fast and don't do stupid things on the road. I still think $10K is too much but then again I speak only for myself and my bank account. $6K is probably my limit, but if you think of this as a 1-week vacation and spliting the cost with a co-driver then it becomes more attractive and affordable.

yeah... figured it was a longshot with the whole "not getting tickets thing" but i guess you take the risk. i assume there is a decent cash prize to the winner... if not then yeah.. just take it easy... there would also be a lot of oppurtunites to make bets with drivers on certain parts of the race... make money that way too.. one of my co workers and i are looking into it right now... WE WILL SEE haha
